The image capture device includes a front facing microphone configured to capture an audio signal. The front facing microphone co-located with at least one optical component. The image capture device further includes at least one non-front facing microphone configured to capture an audio signal. The image capture device further includes a processor configured to generate a forward-facing beam using the audio signal captured by the front facing microphone and the audio signal captured by the at least one non-front facing microphone, generate an omni beam using the audio signal captured by the at least one non-front facing microphone, and output an audio signal based on the forward facing beam and the omni beam.

Abstract: An image capture device detects a wind whistle using two or more microphones. The image capture device includes a processor that obtains microphone signals from the two or more microphones and measures coherence values between the microphone signals across a frequency band. The frequency band includes frequency bins, and the processor measures a coherence value for each frequency bin. Based on a detection of an elevated coherence value in a frequency bin, the processor determines the presence of a whistle. The processor attenuates the frequency bin based on a determination that the elevated coherence value is above a threshold.

The correlation value may be based on a microphone signal, the upsampled vibration signal, or both. Abstract: An image capture device includes a processor for wind noise processing. The processor receives signals from a first microphone, a first plurality of microphones, and a second plurality of microphones. The processor may segment the signals into low frequency bins and high frequency bins. The processor may select a minimum level signal bin for the low frequency bins. For the high frequency bins, the processor may select a minimum level signal bin for a first group of microphones or a second group of microphones. The processor may generate a composite signal by combining the selected minimum level signal bins for the low frequency bins and the selected minimum level signal bins for the high frequency bins.

Abstract: An image capture device includes an audio depression formed into the housing with a drainage microphone mounted therein. A cover protects the drainage microphone disposed beneath the cover from an environment external to the image capture device. The cover and audio depression define a drainage channel extending from a channel entrance, through a channel volume, and out a channel exit. The surface area of the opening of the channel entrance is proportioned relative to the channel volume such that the ratio of the surface area to volume is greater than ten percent. This allows the cover to shift resonance outside of a desired frequency band.

Abstract: A camera includes one or more microphone pairs. A first microphone (e.g., a main microphone) is ported to the outside of the camera and captures the desired external audio signal, but may also capture undesired vibrational noise. A second microphone has a similar structure to the first microphone, but is not ported to the outside of the camera. Instead, the second microphone is ported into an enclosed cavity (e.g., 1-2 cubic centimeters in volume). The second microphone may pick up the same vibration excitation and internal acoustic noise as the first microphone but very little of the desired external acoustic sounds around the camera. The unwanted noise can then be removed by subtracting the second audio signal from the second microphone from the main audio signal from the main microphone.
