Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for optimizing the scheduling of Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) transmissions in the downlink (DL) direction. A two-stage mechanism can be implemented when effectuating DL OFDMA transmission involving multiple modulation and coding schemes (MCS) in a single transmit burst. A first stage of the two-stage mechanism may use radio frequency (RF) boosting/de-boosting of Resource Units (RUs) such that the average input power to an AP power amplifier (PA) may remain under a saturated PA output power to ensure PA linearity. If RF boosting/de-boosting is not supported, an alternative mechanism for OFDMA grouping (to rigid grouping) can be employed to skip higher MCS.

Abstract: Dynamic configuration of multiple radios of an access point is described. An example of an access point includes a processor; a memory; hardware filters; and a first set of radio chains and antennas, the access point including a first radio mode for operation as a single radio on a first channel to service a first BSS and a second radio mode for operation as a first radio on the first channel and a second radio on a second channel to perform an additional service, wherein the access point is to provide dynamic configuration of the radios including, upon determining that operation of the first channel to service the first BSS is not compatible with a particular hardware filter of the first radio, migrating the first BSS from the first radio to the second radio to service on the second channel, and providing the additional service on the first channel.

Abstract: An example method comprising: activating a first radio of a wireless access point to communicate with a first set of client devices by transceiving signals on channels within a first frequency band; activating a second radio of the wireless access point to communicate with a second set of client devices by transceiving signals on channels within a second frequency band; receiving a command from a network controller to change frequency bands of the wireless access point; toggling the first radio from a first antenna circuit to a second antenna circuit to connect the first radio to an antenna such that the first radio is capable of transceiving signals on channels within a first sub-band of the first frequency band; and configuring the second radio to transceive signals on channels within a second sub-band of the first frequency band.
