Abstract: A parameter configuration method, a terminal device, a network side device, and a communications system are disclosed. The method includes: determining, by a network side device, a first transmission parameter and a second transmission parameter for a terminal device when the network side device needs to allocate a first-type transmission resource and a second-type transmission resource to the terminal device, where the first transmission parameter and the second transmission parameter meet a preset correspondence; generating, by the network side device, control information, where the control information includes first information, and the first information is used to indicate the first transmission parameter; and sending, by the network side device, the control information.

Abstract: This application provides an uplink transmission method, a terminal, and a network side device. The method includes: storing, by a terminal, an uplink transmission time-frequency resource allocated by a network side device; when the terminal needs to send an uplink signal, determining the to-be-transmitted uplink signal based on a quantity of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols in the uplink transmission time-frequency resource; and sending, by the terminal, the uplink signal to the network side device. During implementation of the uplink transmission method provided in this application, grant free transmission solutions are provided for different uplink transmission time-frequency resources, to effectively improve communication performance.

Abstract: This application provides a transmission method that improves performance of detecting a terminal device by a network device. The method includes may include determining, by a network device, frequency hopping sequences of N terminal devices grouped into a plurality of groups in each of L adjacent slots, where any two terminal devices in each group of terminal devices use a same frequency resource, any two groups of terminal devices in each slot use different frequency resources, and each group of terminal devices in each slot includes a maximum of K terminal devices, pilot signals used by each group of terminal devices are elements in a set that includes K different pilot signals, and pilot signals used by any two terminal devices in each group in each slot are different. The method may also include sending, by the network device, first indication information to a first terminal device in the N terminal devices, where the first indication information determines a frequency hopping sequence of the first terminal device and a pilot signal used by the first terminal device in each slot.

Abstract: In accordance to embodiments, methods, devices, and systems for determining initial transmissions in grant-free transmissions are disclosed. A UE receives a resource configuration for grant-free (GF) transmissions. The resource configuration comprises a periodicity parameter (P), a repetition number (K), and a sequence of redundancy version (RV) numbers corresponding to one or more RV types. The periodicity parameter defines a period having K transmission occasions (TOs), and each of the KTOs is associated with one RV number in the sequence of RV numbers. The UE performs an initial GF transmission of data in a TO of the K TOs in the period defined by the periodicity parameter. The TO is associated with an RV number corresponding to RV0.
