摘要: A multi-layer analytical element for analyzing body fluids includes a light transmitting and water impermeable support having provided thereon a fist non-fibrous porous layer, a second non-fibrous porous layer, and a fibrous porous layer in this order, the three porous layers being bonded together in one piece with an adhesive locally applied in such a manner that small through-holes are formed so as not to substantially interfere with uniform penetration of the liquid. At least one of the non-fibrous porous layers contains a reagent composition which undergoes a detectable optical change in the presence of a component to be analyzed, which optical change is detectable in the first non-fibrous porous layer, and wherein the non-fibrous porous layer comprises polysulfone. The analytical element enables dry analyses with improved precision independently of the hematocrit value of samples.

摘要: A method of preparing an integral multilayer analytical element such as for analysis of calcium comprising a water-impermeable light-transmissive support, a reagent layer containing a water-soluble indicator capable of reacting with an analyte to produce an optically detectable change, and a porous spreading layer containing a spreading action controller and/or an acid capable of decomposing the calcium compounds in a sample, superposed in this order, wherein the spreading action controller and/or the acid is dissolved in an organic solvent which does not dissolve the above water-soluble indicator, this solution is incorporated into the porous spreading layer, and this superposed material is dried. In the method of the present invention, the migration of the water-soluble indicator in the reagent layer at the time of incorporating the spreading action controller or the acid into the spreading layer is inhibited by using a particular organic solvent. Migrations of the indicator and colored material to the spreading layer are also lowered by the spreading action controller, and by these, analytical accuracy of the analytical element is improved. In the case of the analytical element for analysis of calcium, permeation of the acid into other layers than the spreading layer is inhibited, and permeation of a pH buffer in other layer(s) into the spreading layer is also inhibited by using a particular organic solvent. As a result, effective decomposition of calcium compounds in a sample and effective coloration can be achieved.

摘要: A magnetic circuit includes a cylindrical yoke member having an inner circumferential surface and a collar formed at one end thereof and turned back substantially at right angles, and a plurality of permanent magnet segments of a partially circular arc in cross section having respective outer surfaces attracted magnetically to the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical yoke member and respective one end faces attracted magnetically to the collar of the cylindrical yoke member. The magnetic circuit is manufactured by a method including the steps of magnetically attracting the permanent magnet segments to an outer peripheral surface of a center rod, causing the magnet segments in a magnetically attracted state to face the yoke member, using a nonmagnetic supporter to regulate the magnet segments in position, extracting the center rod from the magnet segments in a position-regulated state, and magnetically attracting and fixing the magnet segments to the yoke member. The magnetic circuit is applied to an actuator or a speaker.

摘要: A non-aqueous secondary battery comprises a positive electrode-active material, a negative electrode material and a non-aqueous electrolyte, wherein an electrode mixture for positive electrode containing the positive electrode-active material comprises a compound in which anions can be inserted at a voltage of not less than 3.9 V (with respect to an Li.sup.+ /Li electrode). Moreover, the electrode mixture for positive electrode may further comprise at least one member selected from the group consisting of transition metals, elements of Group IIIB and IVB (except for C) and carbides thereof. The non-aqueous secondary battery can ensure safety against any overcharge and has a high discharge voltage. Moreover, the non-aqueous secondary battery permits increase in the charge capacity and discharge capacity without using any lithium compound in the electrode mixture for positive electrode, the reduction of the amount of the positive electrode-active material to be used and the improvement in the energy density of the resulting battery per unit volume.
