    摘要: An electronic circuit including semiconductor modules and capacitors is positioned in the axial direction of a motor. Each semiconductor module is longitudinally positioned in contact with a heat sink. More specifically, a line perpendicular to the surface of a semiconductor chip included in the semiconductor module is perpendicular to the axis line of the motor. Consequently, each capacitor is positioned so that at least a part of the positional range of the capacitor in the axial direction of the motor coincides with the positional ranges of the semiconductor module and the heat sink in the axial direction.

    摘要: In a steering control apparatus, a worm gear is configured to have a lead angle for a self-lock operation, by which a worm wheel is allowed to rotate by rotation of a worm but the worm is not allowed to rotate by rotation of the worm wheel. Thus, a lock mechanism need not be provided separately from a gear mechanism and the apparatus is reduced in entire size. A VGRS control part checks whether the worm gear has a self-lock failure, which disables the self-lock operation. If the worm gear has the self-lock failure, idling suppression processing is performed to suppress idling of a steering wheel. Thus, even when the self-lock failure arises, the steering wheel is suppressed from idling.

    摘要: A load drive circuit for an electric load comprises a plurality of switching circuits connected in parallel with each other, a first wiring conductor pattern connecting one sides of the switching circuits to an external power side through a first connecting portion, and a second wiring conductor pattern connecting another sides of the switching circuits to a load side through a second connecting portion. The first connecting portion and the second connecting portion are disposed in the vicinity of one end and the other end of a parallel arrangement of the switching circuits, respectively. Current paths from the first connecting portion to the second connecting portion through the switching circuits, respectively, have substantially same resistances.

    摘要: A vehicle height sensor includes switching circuits which are turned on and off in accordance with height of a vehicle. The vehicle height sensor is driven when a drive signal is outputted to the sensor. A preset voltage is fed to terminals of the respective switching circuits via resistors. Voltages at the terminals are outputted as vehicle height data having bits corresponding to the respective switching circuits. When the output of the drive signal is suspended, the vehicle height data are read as vehicle height sensor malfunction detecting data. The malfunction detecting data are compared to preset reference data. The vehicle height sensor is judged to be wrong when the malfunction detecting data differ from the preset reference data.

    摘要: A VGRS device checks whether assist control of an EPS device for assisting steering operation of a steering wheel is being stopped. If the assist control of the EPS device is being stopped, a speed increase ratio is determined so that the rotation angle of the output shaft is less than the rotation angle of the input shaft. A VGRS motor is controlled and driven based on a determined speed increase ratio. Thus, steering operation of the steering wheel can be controlled appropriately so that the steering operation of the steering wheel can be continued with relatively small torque. It is less likely that a driver will erroneously feel that the steering wheel is locked.

    摘要: A motor drive apparatus includes a control circuit, which determines that a wire connecting a battery to a first power supply relay and a second power supply relay is broken, and not failure of the power supply relays, if power is not supplied to a motor from the power supply relays when the power supply relays are controlled to turn on. The location of failure can thus be specified accurately. It is only necessary in this case to replace the wire. The motor drive apparatus need not be disassembled or investigated in detail. Man-power for specifying the failure location can be reduced.

    摘要: A device for driving a motor includes inverters, an interrupter, and a controller. Each inverter includes supply systems. Each supply system includes a power source-side path branching from a power source, a power source-side semiconductor switch located in the power source-side path, a ground-side path branching from a ground, a ground-side semiconductor switch located in the ground-side path, and a motor-side path branching at a connection point between the power source-side path and the ground-side path to supply electric current to a corresponding phase of the motor. The controller controls the motor by controlling the inverters and determines whether the semiconductor switches in each inverter are short-circuited. The controller causes the interrupter to disconnect the supply systems in the inverter having the semiconductor switch that is determined to be short-circuited. The controller continues to control the motor by controlling the other inverter.

    摘要: In a motor, a stator with a three-phase winding set and a rotor are located in an operation region of a motor casing having a side wall. An inverter circuit constructed with power modules is located in a control region that is located on the opposite side of the operation region across the side wall in an axial direction of the motor. Each power module has a pair of transistors and a common terminal connected to the pair of transistors. A lead of a winding corresponding to one phase and a lead of a winding corresponding to another phase extend in the axial direction to cross over from the operation region to the control region and are connected together to the common terminal of a corresponding power module.
