摘要: A battery having an electrode unit in which edges of electrode plates are mechanically and electrically connected to a fixing and conducting plate is obtained. A projection is formed at an edge of each electrode plate, and projections are inserted into a grove formed on the fixing and conducting plate. Energy beam is radiated to the fixing and conducting plate along a wall defining the groove, and metal forming the groove is melted and fills a gap between the projection and the groove. The filling metal is solidified at a condition that the melted metal surrounds the projection. The electrode plate is firmly connected to the fixing and conducting plate by a combination of the projection and the surrounding metal. The electrode plates are stably maintained at a positional relationship that the electrode plates extend parallel with each other leaving a gap between adjacent electrode plates, and the electrode plates are connected to the fixing and conducting plate with a reliable electric conductivity.

摘要: A crustacean-derived protein, as measured by sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, displays a non-reduced band of a molecular weight of about 200,000, displays reduced-form bands at about 86,000 and 90,000 molecular weights, and has N-terminal amino acids as indicated by SEQ ID No. 1 or SEQ ID No. 2.This protein is contained in large amounts in the crustacean shells that are largely discarded except for use for meal, chitin, and chitosan raw material. Thus large volume preparation, as well as inexpensive production, is possible. Moreover, application by addition to foods is easy since this is a food-derived protein. Since the protein of the present invention has ice nucleation activity and recrystallization inhibition activity for ice crystals, wide use is possible with the object of quality maintenance and the like of frozen food and the like.

摘要: An air conditioner includes a fixed displacement-type first compression mechanism and a variable displacement-type second compression mechanism independent from each other in a refrigeration cycle, and further includes second compression mechanism displacement control means, compression mechanism operation switching control means, an evaporator for refrigerant, a condenser, a blower, evaporator temperature detection means, and evaporator target temperature calculation means. When the refrigeration cycle is operated only by the first compression mechanism, referring to a temperature (Teva) detected by the evaporator temperature detection means, a temperature (Toff) calculated by the evaporator target temperature calculation means and a predetermined value A, if a condition of Teva−Toff≧A is satisfied, both compression mechanisms are operated simultaneously. The condition of required cooling ability is properly determined, an optimum control for air conditioning is realized, and the loss of consumption power and the like can be adequately suppressed.

摘要: A vapor compression refrigerating system having a compressor, a radiator, a first pressure reducing mechanism for reducing a pressure of refrigerant cooled by the radiator, a refrigerant branching means for dividing refrigerant (m) reduced in pressure by the first pressure-reducing mechanism into portions, a second pressure reducing mechanism for reducing a pressure of one portion of refrigerant (m1), and a third pressure reducing mechanism for reducing a pressure of another portion of refrigerant (m2). One portion and pressure reduced refrigerant (m1′) exchanges heat in a cooler with refrigerant present between the first and third pressure reducing mechanisms, and another portion and pressure reduced refrigerant (m2′) is evaporated by an evaporator. The evaporated refrigerant (m2″) and the refrigerant (m1′) having passed through the cooler are mixed by a gas/liquid separator, and the mixed refrigerant is introduced into the compressor. In a vapor compression refrigerating system using carbon dioxide, the degree of refrigerant superheating at a suction side of the compressor may be reduced, and a coefficient of performance of the refrigerating cycle may be increased.
