    摘要: A digital video disk stores data codes and multifunctional synchronization codes in a data structure. The synchronization codes contain type information code identifying whether the synchronization code is located in a code sequence at the beginning of the data block, the beginning of a data block sector other than the first sector in the data block, the beginning of a line, or the middle of a line. The type information is expressed by two alternative patterns, type information code 1 and type information code 2, expressing the same information and differing in the number of is in the 5-bit sequence, i.e., an odd or even number of 1s. Which one of the two type information code pattern is used is selected according to the DSV so as to minimize bias in the dc component of the frame following the synchronization code.

    摘要: A large-aperture single lens with aspherical surfaces to be used as a pickup lens for video disks, especially for tracking the video disk by directly moving the pickup lens. It is preferable that the single lens is made of plastic material in order to make it compact and light in weight. Both refractive surfaces of the single lens are arranged to have positive refractive powers in order to make the working distance of the lens long. Spherical aberration of the single lens is corrected to the degree that the diameter of the circle of confusion thereof is decided approximately by diffraction of light. Both refractive surfaces of the single lens are formed as aspherical surfaces and the shapes of the refractive surfaces are determined so as to correct aberrations including the sine condition to the required range, by taking the error to be caused at the time of manufacture into consideration.

    摘要: When detecting a rotational position of a seconds hand, it is determined whether data stored in a register in correspondence with a supply state of a drive current previously supplied to a coil of a stepping motor is “0”. When the data is “0”, the rotational position of the seconds hand is optically detected. When the data is “1”, the seconds hand is rotated one step, and then, the rotational position of the seconds hand is optically detected. Even though the seconds hand is shifted one second, the position detection is executed every two steps.

    摘要: A hand position detecting device stops optical detection of the respective rotational positions of seconds, center and hour hands when such detection is impossible. When it is determined that the respective positions of the hands have not been detected successively a predetermined number of times, the detection of the hand positions is stopped until a predetermined time, for example 5 minutes before 11 o'clock or 55 minutes past 10 o'clock. This prevents unnecessary repetition of detection of the hand positions and hence useless consumption of battery energy which would otherwise occur.

When the darkness has continued for a predetermined time period, e.g., for 61-70 minutes, it is determined that the wristwatch is not in use and set in a sleep state. Out of seconds, center and hour hands, at least the seconds hand is rotated to a reference position (00-second position) and stopped, and positions of the center and hour hands are detected. Therefore, power consumption during can be reduced when the wristwatch is not in use.
