摘要： An intermittent drive mechanism includes, a continuously rotating driving gear; a subsordinately driven gear disposed in a position close to the driving gear, an epicyclic gear being held in such a manner that it can be engaged with the driving gear by its own rotation along the periphery of the driven gear which remains engaged with the epicyclic gear, and a shifting plate that causes the epicyclic gear to be either engaged with the driving gear or disengaged from it by its movement. In response to movement of the shifting plate, when the epicyclic gear is engaged with the driving gear, the rotation force of the driving gear is transmitted to the subordinately driven gear via the epicyclic gear, whereas the transmission of the rotation force is discontinued when the epicyclic gear is disengaged from the driving gear, and, as a result, the subordinately driven gear is intermittently driven.

摘要： An ink liquid supply system for an ink jet system printer comprises an ink liquid reservoir for containing ink liquid therein, and a constant flow rate plunger pump for supplying the ink liquid to a nozzle. The constant flow rate plunger pump comprises a cylinder block, a bush exchangeably secured to a cylinder portion of the cylinder block, a piston slidably disposed in the bush, and a diaphragm secured to one end of the piston. A first pressure chamber is defined by the other end of the piston, and a second pressure chamber is defined by the diaphragm. In response to the reciprocating movement of the piston, the first pressure chamber functions to introduce the ink liquid from the ink liquid reservoir and to develop the ink liquid of a constant flow rate to the nozzle. At the same time, the second pressure chamber functions to introduce a waste ink liquid from a beam gutter of the ink jet system printer and to return the waste ink liquid to the ink liquid reservoir.

摘要： An ink jet system printer of the charge amplitude controlling type includes a reciprocating printer head and a constant flow rate plunger pump. An actual printing operation is conducted while the printer head is driven to travel forward, and the constant flow rate plunger pump is energized to develop the ink liquid when the printer head is driven to travel backward. A pressure accumulator of a small capacity is disposed between the constant flow rate plunger pump and the printer head for minimizing the pressure pulsation created by the constant flow rate plunger pump.

The second pressure chamber functions to introduce the ink liquid from the ink liquid reservoir and develop the ink liquid toward the third pressure chamber. 摘要： To present a facsimile apparatus capable of preventing occurrence of unsuccessful transmission and enhancing the certainty of information transmission, the manipulating procedure in the manual reception mode for receiving a facsimile signal after an incoming telephone call is provided to the telephone user. When the manual receiving mode is set in the facsimile apparatus, after receipt of the incoming call by lifting the handset of the external telephone set in response to ringing of the calling side terminal device, a CNG signal is transmitted if the calling side is a facsimile apparatus set in an automatic transmitting mode. When this CNG signal is received, the voice signal for instructing the operating procedure for receiving the facsimile signal is delivered to the external telephone set. The operating procedure for receiving the facsimile signal is delivered through the handset, so that the facsimile signal may be easily received by a user not knowledgeable or familiar with the manipulation of the facsimile apparatus.

A controller controls the switch to connect either the facsimile machine or the telephone set to a telephone network based on a comparison of the stored parameter(s) and subsequently detected operational parameter(s) detected when the answering machine responds to a call.

摘要： A facsimile apparatus is provided which can enhance the operability and usefulness of portable image reading devices when transmitting documents and which allows effective utilization of the image reading device. The facsimile apparatus includes a main unit and a separable handscanner between which image signals and various control signals are transmitted using an optical communication technique. A document is scanned by a handscanner that generates signals representing the document image. The image signals are temporarily stored in an image memory and transmitted to the main unit when necessary. Depending on the hook state of the telephone, the main unit either transmits the received image signals to a remote station or records the image on recording paper. When the main unit receives image signals over a telephone network, the received image signals are transmitted to the handscanner for storage into the image memory when necessary. This is done for example, when the so-called memory reception mode is set or when a recording section in the main unit is in a non-normal state.
