    摘要: A piston (6) is hermetically inserted via a sealing member (7) in a cylinder hole (2) provided in a housing (1) so that the piston (6) is movable in an up-down direction. A communication passage (21) provided in an inner peripheral wall of the cylinder hole (2) is communicatively connected to a lock-side supply and discharge passage (13) through which pressurized oil is supplied to and discharged from a lock chamber (11) of the housing (1). An opening area (S1) of the communication passage (21) is designed to be smaller than an opening area (S2) of the lock-side supply and discharge passage (13). When the piston (6) is caused to move for releasing from a raised position to a lower limit position, the sealing member (7) is lowered from the raised position beyond the communication passage (21), to open communication between a release chamber (12) in the housing (1) and the lock-side supply and discharge passage (13) via the communication passage (21).

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a structural component having tailored material properties by applying an IR-absorbent coating to a substrate formed of a ferrous-based, aluminum-based, magnesium-based, or fiber reinforced composite material is provided. The coating is preferably formed of iron oxide (Fe3O4) decorated multiwall carbon nanotubes. Alternatively, the coating is wax-based or polymer-based and includes TriSilanollsooctylt POSS and additives. Different coating compositions may be applied to different zones of the substrate so that the emissivity coefficient varies along the substrate. The coated substrate is heated and formed between a pair of dies to achieve a complex shape or features. The IR-absorbent coating increases the infrared absorption rate during the heating step, which improves formability of the substrate. The iron oxide (Fe3O4) decorated multiwall carbon nanotubes can also be applied to an engine component to increase the thermal efficiency of the engine by reducing friction and enabling the use of light weight materials.

    摘要: A sealing system for a pump includes a housing having an internal chamber adapted to receive a portion of a plunger. A primary seal is translatable within the chamber in sealing relation with the housing. The primary seal includes first and second elastomeric members adapted to sealingly engage the plunger. The first and second elastomeric members are spaced apart from one another a distance greater than or equal to a maximum stroke of the plunger. A secondary seal is spaced apart from the primary seal and adapted to sealingly engage the plunger. A chamber contains a barrier fluid in contact with the primary seal and the secondary seal. A pressurizing device maintains a pressure of barrier fluid at a magnitude greater than a peak pressure of a fluid pumped by the plunger such that the pumped fluid is restricted from entering the barrier fluid chamber.

The stroke center region is a region between an under face position of a ring groove for a bottom piston ring at a top dead center of the piston and a top face position of a ring groove for a top piston ring at a bottom dead center of the piston. The total of areas of all of the recesses is in the range of 1% to 80% when an area of the stroke center region is 100%, and the recesses are not formed in a region other than the stroke center region of the bore surface of the cylinder.
