Abstract: This management system for a computer system including a plurality of resources receives designation of an app usage and refers to management information, which includes information about the plurality of resources. The management system determines, for a target virtual server (a virtual server that executes the app for the designated app usage), at least one of the specification of resources to be allocated for exclusive use and the specification of resources to be allocated for shared use, in accordance with app requirements associated with the designated app usage. The plurality of resources includes a plurality of logical volumes and a plurality of computer resources including a plurality of kinds of computer resources. The computer system includes a server system including two or more computer resources included among the plurality of computer resources. The resource specifications include the kinds of resources, app usages associated with resources, and/or the number of resources.

Abstract: A management computer communicates with a host computer and a storage device, and is provided with a memory and a CPU. The memory stores configuration information which includes information about a plurality of storage media having different performance levels provided in the host computer and the storage device, and which associates storage regions provided by the storage media with the host computer. If the CPU receives a request for allocation of a storage region to the host computer, and which includes information about access characteristics of the host computer and the capacity of the storage region to be allocated, the CPU refers to the configuration information, selects a storage medium that provides a storage region having the requested capacity, from among the storage media and the host computer, and generates and outputs a configuration scheme for allocating a storage region from the selected storage medium to the host computer.

Abstract: A management computer stores an operation requirement of a virtual machine and a scheme of a first configuration change executed by a host computer or a storage apparatus. The management computer determines whether a second configuration change configured so as to be executed automatically in the host computer or the storage apparatus is executed. If it is determined that the second configuration change is executed, the management computer predicts a performance index value concerning a prescribed performance index for the computer or the storage apparatus when executing the second configuration change. The management computer determines whether an anticipated effect value of the configuration change scheme is satisfied based on the predicted performance index value, and creates a substitution plan satisfying both an operation requirement and an anticipated effect value of the virtual machine where it is determined that the anticipated effect value is not satisfied.
