Abstract:
When migrating an IT system between clouds, a cost presentation apparatus calculates costs of a VM and a virtual disk in each configuration obtained by combining a VM type, a migration destination cloud, a VM deployment destination, and a virtual disk deployment destination and displays a relationship between the cost of the VM and the virtual disk in each of the configurations and activation time (VM uptime) of the VMs and displays, on a GUI, the activation time of the VM in the configuration.
Abstract:
A method for controlling hierarchical storage including: a first step for storing first information relating to the association between the specific processes and the storage regions of the storage tiers; a second step for obtaining second information relating to the access operations of the specific processes as a function of time; a third step for obtaining third information relating to the amount of access to the storage regions as a function of time; and a fourth step for identifying the time of occurrence of a change in the amount of access, from the second information and the third information on the basis of the first information, and determining, according to the identified time of occurrence of the change in the amount of access, a transfer initiation time at which data in the storage regions is to be transferred between storage tiers.
Abstract:
To estimate power consumption of a workload, an estimation server estimates power consumption of a workload executed on a physical server. A processor trains a plurality of short-range power models that receive a metric of the physical server as an input and output a power consumption value of the physical server in a plurality of short ranges obtained by dividing an entire power range of the physical server into a predetermined division number, trains a classifier that receives a metric of the physical server as an input and outputs specification information specifying a corresponding short range and specifies specification information specifying a short range to be applied based on a metric of the workload and the classifier. The estimate of the power consumption of the workload is based on the metric of the workload and a short-range power model corresponding to the short range indicated by the specification information.
Abstract:
Example implementations described herein are directed to management of a first storage system for an on-premise system and a second storage system for a public cloud system. Such example implementations can involve, responsive to an update to one or more of a plurality of snapshot volumes in the first storage system, updating first shared page information stored in the first storage system according to the update to the one or more snapshot volumes, the first shared page information indicative of pages shared between the plurality of snapshot volumes in the first storage system; transmitting instructions to the second storage system to copy the updates to the one or more snapshot volumes from the first shared page information to a second shared page information stored in the second storage system; and executing read or write operations made to the second storage system based on the second shared page information.
Abstract:
Example implementations described herein are directed to systems and methods for policy based management of access to networked applications in compliance with rules or policies. An example implementation includes a method to manage access to a program where in response to receiving a request, the method identifies a source location indicated by program information and a destination location indicated by user information, determines a rule type based on the source location and the destination location, determines a rule for the program based on the source location, the destination location, and the rule type, applies a procedure to approve access based on the rule; and allows access to the program based on successful completion of the procedure.
Abstract:
Provided is power consumption estimation means that can accurately estimate the power consumption of diverse applications. A power consumption estimating device includes a metadata DB that stores past application metadata related to each of past applications, a power consumption DB including power consumption information representing the power consumption of the past applications, and a power consumption estimating section that estimates the power consumption of an estimation target application. The power consumption estimating section extracts target application metadata from an application manifest related to the estimation target application, calculates the degree of similarity of the target application metadata to the past application metadata, extracts, from the power consumption DB, first power consumption information corresponding to a similar application having a degree of similarity which satisfies a predetermined degree-of-similarity criterion, and outputs the first power consumption information as a first power consumption estimation result.
Abstract:
A management computer manages a data processing infrastructure including a server that executes a job and a storage device that is coupled to the server via a network and stores data used for processing in accordance with the job. The management computer includes a disc and a CPU. The disc stores maximum resource amount information, path information, and load information. The CPU computes a free resource amount of components forming a path to data related to execution of a predetermined job, based on the maximum resource amount information, the path information, and the load information and determines a parallelizable number in a parallel executable processing unit when the predetermined job is executing in the server, based on the free resource amount.
Abstract:
An optimization support system that supports optimization of usage efficiency of resources identifies resource consumption and cost of each virtual machine, from management data. The management data includes data representing, for each of a plurality of virtual machines, attributes and cost of the virtual machine, and at least resource consumption out of resource consumption and resource usage rate of each of a plurality of types of calculation resources allocated to the virtual machine. The optimization support system displays a management user interface (UI) that is a UI representing both resource consumption and cost regarding the plurality of virtual machines.
Abstract:
In one mode, a management calculator is connected to a host calculator and a storage device, and stores, in a memory, composition information and function setting information. The composition information shows multiple logic storage regions provided by the storage device, and objects that are stored in one logic storage region from among the multiple logic storage regions and that are executed by the host calculator, the logic storage regions and the objects being shown in association with one another. Meanwhile, the function setting information shows storage functions set for the logic storage regions.
Abstract:
The processor of the management server coupled to a data management server and the like accessed from a client server, IT resources, and public cloud resources in which data are stored, is configured to identify a relation among a data user that uses the data, the data, and the IT resources on the basis of data management information in the public cloud resources and IT infrastructure management information in the IT resources, and present the identified relation to the client server.
