Abstract: A method includes sending a first message to an access management function based on context information of a multicast session corresponding to a multicast and broadcast service (MBS). The first message is for triggering reporting of location information of a first terminal device. The first terminal device belongs to a multicast group. The method also includes receiving the location information of the first terminal device from the access management function. The method further includes in response to (1) the location information indicating a location of the first terminal device and determining, based on the location of the first terminal device, that the first terminal device is located outside a service area of the MBS, or (2) the location information indicating that the first terminal device is located outside the service area of the MBS, stopping sending data of the MBS to the first terminal device.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application disclose a communication method of adding a terminal to a multicast group by using a unicast PDU session establishment procedure. The terminal sends, to a mobility management network element, a PDU session establishment request message that includes identification information of a multicast group, where the PDU session establishment request message is used by the terminal to join the multicast group. The mobility management network element receives the PDU session establishment request message, sends the identification information of the multicast group to a session management network element, triggers the session management network element to establish a multicast PDU session, and feeds back the context information of the multicast PDU session to the terminal to allow the terminal to join the multicast group so that the terminal receives multicast data by using the multicast PDU session.

Abstract: This application provides a communication method and apparatus. One example method comprises: obtaining, by a first communication apparatus, a first service that is to be sent from the first communication apparatus to a second communication apparatus; determining, by the first communication apparatus, a second quality of service (QoS) parameter based on the first service, wherein the second QoS parameter indicates a QoS requirement for sending the first service from the first communication apparatus to the second communication apparatus; sending, by the first communication apparatus, the second QoS parameter to a first relay communication apparatus, wherein the first relay communication apparatus is a relay communication apparatus between the first communication apparatus and the second communication apparatus; and receiving, by the first communication apparatus, a third QoS parameter from the first relay communication apparatus, wherein the third QoS parameter is used to determine a QoS parameter corresponding to the first service on a first link, and the first link is a link between the first communication apparatus and the first relay communication apparatus.

Abstract: This application discloses example communications methods and apparatuses. One example method includes receiving a first request message from a terminal, where the first request message is used to request information used for PC5 interface-based communication of the terminal. A second request message can be sent to a policy and charging function network element based on the first request message, where the second request message is used to request the information used for the PC5 interface-based communication. A quality of service (QoS) rule used for the PC5 interface-based communication can then be received from the policy and charging function network element. The QoS rule can then be sent to the terminal based on the first request message, where the apparatus is a mobility management network element or located in a mobility management network element.

Abstract: This application discloses a multicast session establishment method and a network device, and relates to the field of wireless communication technologies, to implement establishment of a multicast session based on a network architecture that has been deployed by an operator. In one example, when the multicast session is established, policy control, for example, quality of service QoS control, of the multicast session may be completed via a policy control network element or a session management network element in the network architecture that has been deployed by the operator.

Abstract: This application provides a multicast/broadcast service transmission method, a core network element, and a terminal device. The method performed by a first core network element includes: obtaining a multicast/broadcast access type supported by a terminal device that is located in a first service area of a multicast/broadcast service and that belongs to a group corresponding to the multicast/broadcast service; determining a multicast/broadcast transmission type of the multicast/broadcast service in the first service area based on the multicast/broadcast access type supported by the terminal device; and notifying an access network element corresponding to the multicast/broadcast service to use the multicast/broadcast transmission type to transmit data of the multicast/broadcast service. According to the method, the first core network element may determine a specific RAT based on which multicast/broadcast transmission is performed, to better adapt to a case in which a terminal device supports a plurality of RATs, and improve multicast/broadcast transmission efficiency.

Abstract: A communication method, including, when a terminal device is in an idle mode or an inactive mode, a first control plane functional entity that obtains access network information of the terminal device and sends context information of the terminal device to an access network device corresponding to the access network information. Therefore, when the terminal device is in the idle mode or the inactive mode, the first control plane functional entity obtains the access network information of the terminal device and pre-sends the context information of the terminal device to the access network device corresponding to the access network information. When the terminal device needs to transmit data, the terminal device does not need to wait for the process of transmitting the context information of the terminal device, thereby facilitating reducing a delay.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a video encoding method, a video decoding method, a video encoder, and a video decoder. The video encoding method includes: obtaining a to-be-encoded HDR image frame, where the HDR image frame includes multiple image blocks; determining, in multiple preset optical-electro transfer functions according to a statistical luminance value of each of the multiple image blocks, an optical-electro transfer function corresponding to the image block; performing optical-to-electrical conversion on the image block according to the optical-electro transfer function corresponding to the image block; and encoding the multiple image blocks on which the optical-to-electrical conversion has been performed. According to the embodiments of the present disclosure, one corresponding optical-electro transfer function is set for each image block, so as to improve a video encoding effect and better adapt to an existing video encoding framework.
