    Abstract: A semi-submersible drilling vessel has a deckbox structure, one or more pontoons, and multiple support columns extending upward from the one or more pontoons and supporting thereon the deckbox structure. An annular riser joints storage caisson extends downwardly from the deckbox structure, wherein the storage caisson delimits an annular storage space configured for storage therein of an annular array of riser joints in vertical orientation thereof. A riser joints carousel device is provided in the annular storage space, which riser joints carousel device is configured to carry an annular array of riser joints in vertical orientation thereof in a mobile manner relative to the annular storage caisson so that the array of riser joints is movable along an annular path through the storage spaced between the inner and outer wall of the storage caisson. The deckbox structure is provided with a riser joint transfer passage at a riser joint transfer location above the annular path of the riser joints carried by the riser joints carousel device through the storage space. The vessel is provided with a riser joint vertical transfer device configured to lift and lower a riser joint out of and into the riser joints carousel device, passing therein vertically through the riser joint transfer passage of the deckbox structure.

    Abstract: A semi-submersible drilling vessel has a deckbox structure and a shaker room. A downward sloping mud return line is provided that passes mud from the diverter to the shaker room. In the shaker room there are one or more shale shaker devices, one or more upstream mud tanks arranged to receive gas cut mud from the one or more shale shaker devices, and a vacuum degasser having an inlet pipe extending into an upstream mud tank, a vacuum tank, a vacuum pump, and an outlet, and a degassed mud tank receiving degassed mud from the outlet of the vacuum degasser. The degassed mud tank has an effective height between the bottom thereof to the operational mud level in said degassed mud tank that is greater than the corresponding effective height of said one or more upstream mud tanks. The degassed mud tank is mounted so that—in operation—the operational mud level in said degassed mud tank is at least 1.5 meter, preferably at least 2 meters, higher than in said one or more upstream tanks with the vacuum degassers self-suction effect causing the mud to be pumped from the upstream tank, via the vacuum degasser, into the degassed mud tank.

    Abstract: In a wellbore drilling installation and method for drilling a wellbore or other wellbore related activities, the installation includes a drilling tower, drill floor with well center, and a slip device system including a first slip device and a second slip device. A top drive trolley with top drive device is guided along a vertical trolley rail. The trolley includes a frame and the top drive device is attached to the frame independent from first and second vertical frame members. A rotatable head clamp component is adapted to be releasably connected to and suspended from the first and second vertical frame members of the trolley. The rotatable head clamp component includes a housing, an open-centered rotary body, a drilling operation thrust bearing arranged between the housing and the rotary body adapted to support the load of a drilling tubulars string during a drilling operation. The component further includes a retainer assembly that is embodied to axially retain the top end of the drilling tubular whilst the top end of the tubular remains accessible for the rotary stem of the top drive device. The installation is embodied such that, with both the first and second slip devices in their respective retracted position, the rotatable head clamp component is lowerable by the trolley into a position in between the first and second slip devices onto a support structure that is adapted to support the load of a drilling tubulars string retained by the rotatable head clamp component.

A firing line hoist system comprising a mast is mounted on the hull.     Abstract: A well drilling tubulars bin system comprises a well drilling tubulars bin and control device. The bin comprises a frame structure, and an elevator mechanism, for holding multiple layers of a plurality of well drilling tubulars.
