An apparatus of Access and Mobility Function (AMF) of a Fifth Generation (5G) network comprises one or more processors to receive a user equipment (UE) Capabilities update from a remote server to update a UE capability database that stores UE capability information corresponding to one or more UEs identified with a unique identifier, and to process the UE Capabilities update via one or more Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).

Abstract: Embodiments are related to a fifth generation (5G) or sixth generation (6G) wireless communications system. A method for an access node of a wireless system comprises encoding a session start request message to start a data collection session (DCS) to collect data for a machine learning (ML) model from a user equipment (UE) by a base station of a wireless system, the session start request message including UE context information, decoding a session start response message to indicate the start of the DCS by the base station, the session start response message including DCS configuration information for the ML model, and encoding a data collection request message for the UE to collect measurements for the ML model based on the DCS configuration information for the ML model by the base station. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: The present disclosure is generally related to wireless and cellular communication, communication system implementations, and in particular, to support for mobile terminated small data transmission (MT-SDT) in 5G systems (5GS). A UE initiates a radio resource control (RRC) resume procedure with a resume cause value of “mt-SDT” in an RRC resume request when a mobile terminated small data transmission (MT-SDT) indication for the UE is included in a received paging message and a set of conditions for initiating MT-SDT have been fulfilled. The UE initiates the RRC resume procedure with a resume cause value of “mt-Access” in the RRC resume request message when the set of conditions for initiating MT-SDT have not been fulfilled. Abstract: Technology for an eNodeB operable to support Cellular Internet of Things (CIoT) is disclosed. The eNodeB can generate a system information block (SIB) that includes one or more indicators that one or more CIoT Evolved Packet System (EPS) optimizations are supported at the eNodeB. The eNodeB can encode, at the eNodeB, the SIB for transmission to a user equipment (UE) to enable the eNodeB to receive a request from the UE for a use of the CIoT EPS optimizations. The eNodeB can decode a radio resource control (RRC) connection setup complete message received from the UE. The RRC connection setup complete message can include one or more indicators that one or more CIoT EPS optimizations are supported at the UE.
