Abstract: A wireless communication device is configured to perform resource access in device-to-device (D2D) communication. A user equipment (UE) is provided with processing hardware comprising application processing circuitry and baseband processing circuitry. The application processing circuitry assigns a per-packet priority to data packets in the application layer. The baseband processing circuitry maps the per-packet priority to a transmission priority in the physical layer and prioritizes access to a wireless resource pool depending upon the transmission priority. A UE having the application processing circuitry and baseband processing circuitry is also provided. A computer program product is also provided. An evolved Node B (eNodeB) allocates a resource quota to a UE based upon priority information from the UE corresponding to a D2D communication to be transmitted by the UE. Abstract: Technology for an eNodeB operable to support Cellular Internet of Things (CIoT) is disclosed. The eNodeB can generate a system information block (SIB) that includes one or more indicators that one or more CIoT Evolved Packet System (EPS) optimizations are supported at the eNodeB. The eNodeB can encode, at the eNodeB, the SIB for transmission to a user equipment (UE) to enable the eNodeB to receive a request from the UE for a use of the CIoT EPS optimizations. The eNodeB can decode a radio resource control (RRC) connection setup complete message received from the UE. The RRC connection setup complete message can include one or more indicators that one or more CIoT EPS optimizations are supported at the UE.

Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a transfer framework and procedure for a failure indication and subsequent recover message for a user equipment (UE) in multi-radio access technology (MR)-dual connectivity (DC). For example, in embodiments, a UE may send an indication of a radio link failure (RLF) on a master node (MN) to a secondary node (SN) via a signalling radio bearer type 3 (SRB3). The SN may forward the indication to the MN (e.g., in a transparent manner). In some embodiments, the indication may be formatted in the same format as messages on signalling radio bearer type 1 (SRB1). Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
