Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a method and device of encoding a color picture having color components (Ec) comprising obtaining (11) a luminance component (L) and two chrominance components (C1, C2) from the color picture to be encoded. The method for encoding a color picture having color components comprising obtaining at least one chrominance component from the color picture to be encoded, characterized in that the method further comprises: determining a first factor based on the value of each pixel (i) of said luminance component; obtaining at least one final chrominance component by scaling said at least one chrominance component by said first factor; and encoding (13) said at least one final chrominance component.

Abstract: A method for coding an HDR picture is disclosed that includes mapping the HDR picture to obtain a SDR picture, determining color correcting parameters, color correcting said SDR picture responsive to said color correcting parameters, and encoding the color corrected SDR picture in a stream. Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a device and a method of decoding a color picture from a bitstream. It comprises: obtaining an expanded range luminance as a first component by applying a nonlinear dynamic expansion function to a luminance component obtained from the bitstream, wherein said nonlinear dynamic expansion function is determined depending on an inverse of a dynamic reduction function that has been applied to an original luminance component obtained when encoding the color picture; obtaining a second component by calculating a square root of a difference between a value determined by the first component and another value computed as a linear combination of a multiplication product of two chrominance components and square values of the two chrominance components obtained from the bitstream; and obtaining at least one color component of the color picture to be decoded at least from said second component and said two chrominance components by determining said at least one color component as a linear combination of the second component and the two chrominance components.

Abstract: The present principles generally relate to encoding and decoding of a point cloud representing the geometry of a point cloud representing a 3D object. According to the invention, prediction is used in the encoding process of the splitting information of the local octree-based structure and/or in the 10 encoding process of the occupancy information of the leaf cubes of the local octree-based structure. A predictor of the local octree-based structure is used for determining the context of the context-dependent entropy encoding in order to reduce the number of bits needed for the octree encoding.
