    Abstract: A connector is mateable with a mating connector along a front-rear direction. The connector comprises at least one contact and a holding member. The at least one contact has a first support portion, a second support portion, a first contact portion, a second contact portion and a coupling portion. The first support portion has a first edge in a width direction. The coupling portion has an upper main portion and an upper bent portion. The upper main portion has an upper front wide portion, an upper front narrow portion and an upper base portion. The upper front narrow portion has an edge facing a first orientation. The at least one contact has a first boundary portion between the first edge of the first support portion and the upper front wide portion in the front-rear direction. The edge of the upper front narrow portion is positioned beyond the first boundary portion in a second orientation.

    Abstract: A connector assembly comprises a first connector and a second connector mateable with each other. The first connector comprises two first positioning portions each having a first outer surface, and the second connector comprises two second positioning portion each having a second outer surface. Under a mated state where the first connector and the second connector are mated with each other, the first outer surfaces face the second outer surfaces in a horizontal direction (Y-direction), respectively. The connector assembly comprises at least one of a pair of first depressions provided to the first positioning portions, respectively, and another pair of second depressions provided to the second positioning portions, respectively. For example, when the first positioning portions are provided with the first depressions, respectively, under the mated state, each of the first depressions is located below an upper end of the first outer surface and depressed inward in the horizontal direction.

    Abstract: A connector comprises a housing, a slider, a regulating portion and an operation portion. The housing has a lock portion. The slider has a release portion and a regulated portion. Under a mated state where the connector is mated with a mating connector having a mating lock portion, the lock portion locks the mating lock portion of the mating connector, and the regulating portion faces the regulated portion and regulates a rearward movement of the slider. When the operation portion is operated to be pressed inward of the connector, at least one of the regulating portion and the regulated portion is moved, and the regulating portion does not regulate the rearward movement of the slider. When the slider is moved rearward, the release portion moves the lock portion and releases the mating lock portion.

    Abstract: A connector device comprises a connector and a mating connector which are mateable with each other. The connector comprises a detection terminal having a main contact and a sub-contact for arc discharge. The mating connector comprises a mating detection terminal having a mating main contact and a mating sub-contact for arc discharge. When the connector is connected to the mating connector, the main contact of the detection terminal is brought into contact with the mating main contact of the mating detection terminal. When the connector is disconnected from the mating connector, the main contact is moved along a main path to be disconnected from the mating main contact, and the sub-contact is moved along a sub-path to be apart from the mating sub-contact after the main contact is apart from the mating main contact. The main path and the sub-path are apart from each other.

    Abstract: An optical connector apparatus includes a connector which is connected to an electro-optical composite cable including an optical fiber and a metal conductor, and a connection object to be connected. The connector is provided with a ferrule which has a conductive portion on at least a part of the surface thereof. The connection object to be connected is provided with an electrically conductive connection member to be connected to the ferrule. The ferrule and the cable are connected by a crimping structure. When the ferrule is inserted in the connection member, the connector and the connection object to be connected are electrically and optically connected to each other. Provided is also an optical connector apparatus which comprises a connector having a plurality of ferrules having distances between the end of the ferrules and the conductive portions so that the timing of the connection of the connector to the object to be connected is delayed, and thus the optical connector apparatus is capable of hot swapping. The connection object to be connected can be a combination of an adapter and a mating connector, or an optical element and an adapter which holds the same, etc.

    Abstract: A connector includes a first connector portion having a first contact point extending in a fitting direction and a second connector portion having a curved surface capable of inverting between a convex surface and a concave surface and a second contact point extending from the curved surface, the second contact point moving between a non-contacting position and a contacting position through inversion of the curved surface between the convex surface and the concave surface, the first connector portion being aligned with the second connector portion, with the second contact point being located at the non-contacting position, and the curved surface of the second connector portion being inverted so that the second contact point is switched to the contacting position, whereby the second contact point comes into contact with the first contact point to establish electrical connection between the first connector portion and the second connector portion.
