    摘要: A bone stabilization or fixation assembly may include a bone plate having an upper side and an underside and at least one fixation hole having a first diameter and the hole extending from the upper side to the underside. The area of the bone plate adjacent the fixation hole has a first thickness. The bone stabilization assembly further includes at least one fastener having a head, a shaft, and a relief. The head has a larger dimension than the shaft. The shaft may have threads having a pitch, a core diameter and an outer thread diameter. The relief has a length and a second diameter. The first diameter of the fixation hole may be smaller than the outer thread diameter but larger than the second diameter of the relief. Also, the length of the relief may be greater than the first thickness of the bone plate. The first diameter may be greater than, equal to, or less than the core diameter of the shaft.

    摘要: A method and system for electronic communication risk management through implementation of rule sets that impose electronic communication limitation options on electronic communications that meet the criteria for inclusion in an electronic communication risk level category. One such electronic communication limitation option gives an electronic communication a temporal life span after which it is automatically deleted from memory locations in which a copy of it is electronically stored. A second limitation option precludes an intended recipient from forwarding, copying, and/or printing the received EC. A third limitation option blocks electronic communications from being sent to certain recipients until prior authorization is obtained. The invention reduces the risks associated with electronic communication proliferation and inadequately managed electronic communications.

    摘要: An inflatable cast system for immobilizing a lower extremity of a human. The system includes a pair of outer shell members shaped to conform to the lateral and medial sides of the lower extremity, respectively. A base member is fastened to the shell members to form a substantially U-shaped stirrup member. The upstanding sidewalls of the shell members are maintained in position relative to the lower extremity by a plurality of elongated, circumferentially extending, longitudinally spaced, flexible fastening straps. A pair of inflatable air bags are attached to inside surfaces of the shell members. The air bags include at least one chamber and a valve that is sealed along one edge of the air bag and is adapted to allow the chamber to be automatically sealed once the brace is attached to the extremity of the user. A unidirectional air pump is provided to allow the chamber of the air bag to be selectively inflated and deflated. The air pump includes in inflation orifice and a deflation orifice that are dimensioned to be inserted within a top portion of the valve. A bulb portion of the pump causes air to be drawn in through the deflation orifice and out through the inflation orifice when squeezed.
