    摘要: The invention relates generally to the field of automated collection and deposition of fluid, semi-solid, and solid samples of biological or chemical materials. More specifically, the invention relates to the field of microarrayers, which are devices for autonomously depositing minute droplets of biological or chemical fluid samples in ordered arrays onto substrates. The invention also relates to tissue arrayers, which are devices for the collection and deposition of solid and semi-solid tissue samples in ordered arrays. Other aspects of the invention relate to fluidics robots, which are devices for the autonomous collection, dispensing and processing of biological or chemical fluid samples. The invention improves the throughput of microarrayers, tissue arrayers, and fluidics robots by providing methods and apparatuses to precisely and repeatably load supplies into the machines.

    摘要: A bracket trade is provided wherein a bracket trade is a reciprocal risk limitation futures contract with two stops placed at determined levels on either side of a present value of an underlying market, so a possible range in which the exchange's quotation can move once the trade has been opened is ‘bracketed’ by these two levels. The brackets function as trigger stops. If the stop or limit is triggered, the position is closed at exactly that level without slippage. As a result, in respect of an underlying market that is traded 24 hours a day the bracket trade has a delta of 1 regardless of the fluctuations of the underlying market or proximity of the exchange's quotation to the brackets; and where the underlying is not traded 24 hours a day the bracket trade will have a delta of 1 on the expiry day of the contract. Bracket trades provide a means by which exchange members can trade at a transparent market price but with the safety of a limited risk stop.

    摘要: A locking tubing system includes a length of tubing lying in any geometric complexity including a substantially straight line and a first fitting body having a securing member rotationally locked thereto. The first fitting body is affixed to one end of the length of tubing. The system also includes a first nut having a plurality of openings in cooperative relation to engage the securing member, a second fitting body having a securing member rotationally locked thereto, the second fitting body is affixed to the other end of the length of tubing and a second nut having a plurality of openings in cooperative relation to engage the securing member. The first nut and the second nut are threaded onto corresponding mated fittings, each securing member being engaged with at least one of the openings of the respective nuts thereby locking each of the nuts to the respective fitting body.

    摘要: A flow controller (5) for supplying air to a combustor and a combustor incorporating the same are disclosed. The flow controller comprising a conduit (6, 7, 8) and a control port (9), the conduit including a main section (8) dividing into at least two secondary sections (6, 7) at a junction and the control port being positioned in the conduit adjacent to the junction. In one embodiment, the control port is connected to a reservoir (10) wherein, in use, a change in the flow rate of a main airflow flowing through the main section of conduit causes a control airflow to flow either into or out of the control port whereby the main airflow is selectively diverted into one or other of the secondary sections of conduit. The main airflow may coanda around a surface of the main section. The control port may also be connected to the conduit further upstream of the junction so as to form a control loop (16). The main section of conduit may comprise a convergent-divergent duct.

    摘要: A quadrilateral floor tile is provided with a generally flat top surface with each side having a downward sloping edge, inclining toward the floor. Two of the sides, being adjacent, are formed with an integral interlocking strips, each having a plurality of spaced-apart male connecting members. The remaining sides of the tile are formed with a plurality of cavities located to the interior to the sloping edge. Each of the cavities is positioned to mate with a corresponding male connecting member of a neighboring tile. In use, the tiles are interlocked with a number of like tiles to form a basic floor surface. When the outer periphery of the floor surface is encountered, a finished tile edge is formed on perimeter tiles by severing the interlock strip from each tile. The length of each interlock strip may also be adjusted to interlock only at points of intersection with neighboring tiles or may be removed entirely to form a smooth edge.

A panel is included that is attachable to a shopping cart, and a housing is coupled to the panel. A tracking unit is integrated into the housing and the tracking unit is in wireless communication with a tracking device on a retail item that is placed into the shopping car. The tracking unit is in wireless communication with the data server thereby facilitating the data server to compile a list of each retail item that has been place into the shopping cart. Moreover, the data server communicates the list of each retail item to a point of sale device to inhibit any retail item from being removed from the retail environment without paying for the retail item.
