Abstract: A working fluid distribution system for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a distributor tube composed of a flexible material and configured to supply a working fluid to a component of an HVAC circuit of the HVAC system. The fluid distribution system includes an actuator coupled to the distributor tube and configured to be actuated to adjust a geometry of the distributor tube. Additionally, the fluid distribution system includes a controller configured to instruct the actuator to adjust the geometry of the distributor tube based on an operating condition.

Abstract: A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes an enclosure and an evaporator coil disposed within the enclosure. The HVAC system also includes a pivot member coupled between an edge portion of the evaporator coil and the enclosure. The pivot member is configured to enable the evaporator coil to pivot relative to the enclosure to adjust an operating angle of the evaporator coil during operation of the HVAC system. Additionally, the HVAC system includes an actuator configured to enable pivoting of the evaporator coil to a target operating angle based on an operating parameter input.

Abstract: A combined suction header and accumulator for a refrigeration system is described that may protect a compressor from refrigerant liquid entering the compressor while reducing superheat used to evaporate the refrigerant. The combined suction header and accumulator unit for a refrigeration system includes a suction header coupled to an exit side of an evaporator. The suction header includes a main body and receives a flow of refrigerant from the evaporator. The flow of refrigerant includes a liquid portion and a vapor portion. The combined suction header and accumulator unit includes a liquid accumulator disposed within the main body of the suction header. The liquid accumulator blocks the liquid portion of the flow of refrigerant from exiting the main body.

Abstract: A cooling system includes a subcooling heat exchange assembly, which controls magnitude of subcooling of refrigerant circulated through the cooling system. The subcooling heat exchange assembly includes a first fluid line fluidly coupled to an output of a condenser to enable a first portion of the refrigerant output from the condenser to flow through the first fluid line; a second fluid line fluidly coupled to the output of the condenser to enable a second portion of the refrigerant output from the condenser to flow through the second fluid line; and an expansion valve disposed along the second fluid line, in which the expansion valve exerts a first pressure drop on the second portion of the refrigerant that facilitates extracting heat from the first portion of the refrigerant flowing through the first fluid line using the second portion of the refrigerant flowing through the second fluid line when valve position of the expansion valve is greater than a threshold position. Additionally the cooling system includes a plurality of capillary expansion tubes fluidly coupled in parallel to an output of the first fluid line and that to exert a second pressure drop on the refrigerant circulated through the cooling system.
