This has an inverter system for the synthesis of a plurality of phases of alternating current output, and a N-phase induction motor (N is greater than 3). A number, preferably twelve or more, of independently driven phases causes harmonic fields, up to a number equal to the number of phases, to oscillate in synchrony with the fundamental oscillating field.
