Abstract:
An electrode assembly and construction method therefor for use in small high performance batteries suitable for implantable medical device applications. The electrode assembly comprises a stack of precisely aligned planar elements including alternately arranged positive and negative planar electrodes having a planar separator interposed between adjacent electrodes. Each electrode is preferably formed of a thin metal substrate carrying active material on front and rear faces. The peripheral edge of each electrode defines an active area and a tab extending therefrom. The front and rear faces of the active area each carries a layer of active material. The faces of the tab area are preferably bare. The positive electrode tabs are located at a first position along the peripheral edge whereas the negative tabs are located at a second position spaced from said first position. Each tab carries a clip to form a reinforcing strip adjacent each tab face. Alignment holes are formed in the clips and tabs.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is provided for auditing the security configuration of an enterprise having plural nodes. The method comprises collecting security information from the nodes of the enterprise under audit, analyzing the security information and providing a first result of this analysis; and then comparing this first result with a second result comprising security standards applicable to the enterprise under audit and one or more other enterprises that together form a relevant peer group, the result of this comparing step indicating the security of the enterprise under audit relative to that of the peer group of enterprises. The apparatus comprises an apparatus that carries out these same steps.
Abstract:
A pen light bulb which is self aligning in conventional pen light flashlights is disclosed. Applicable pen light flashlights rely upon pressure bearing retention of the bulb therein. A focusing lens protective element of the pen light bulb has various features which provide for a more stable seating surface thereon to contact the housing of the pen light flashlight. These features provide for the axis of projection of the beam of light from the bulb to match, or nearly match, a central axis of the pen light flashlight. A wider and larger spring contact surface on a circular base of the housing of the pen light bulb provides for a truer application of pressure by a spring to the pen light bulb to assist in proper alignment within conventional pen light flashlights.
Abstract:
In one aspect, there is provided a method. The method may intercepting a result provided by a database in response to a query; modifying the intercepted result to enable detection of an order by problem; and detecting, based on the modified intercepted result, whether the query is missing an order by clause. Related systems, methods, and articles of manufacture are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method and system of transforming a query at a web server are provided. An abstract syntax tree representing the query can be traversed from the top down, for each node in the abstract syntax tree: labeling the node as being in a conjunct position when the node's parent is a WHERE node; labeling the node as being not in a conjunct position when the node's parent is an OR node; and labeling the node identically to the node's parent node when the node's parent is an AND node. Then any IN node in the abstract syntax tree can be transformed to an INNER JOIN node when the IN node is labeled as being in a conjunct position. The abstract syntax tree can be converted into a Structured Query Language (SQL) query, which can then be passed to a database for processing.
Abstract:
A database query is modified to improve performance by identifying portions of database tables that are likely to be reused and modifying the database query accordingly. According to certain embodiments, the degree of selectivity with which a table is accessed is used to identify tables that are likely to be reused in subsequent database operations.
Abstract:
A representative parameterized query in a second database query language is generated from a parameterized query in first database query language. By randomly generating a query in the first database query language, translating this query into the second database query language, and then identifying locations of relevant parameters in the translated query, parameter placeholders can then be substituted at the identified locations to provide a parameterized query in the second database query language. A representative parameterized query in the second database query language can be selected by randomly generating multiple parameterized queries and applying statistical methods including Monte Carlo methods.

Abstract:
A brachytherapy device for treating tissue within a cavity of a body. The device may include a first set of tubes configured to be inserted into the cavity through an opening at the surface of the body. Each of the tubes may have an external end and an interior channel beginning at the external end that is configured to receive radioactive material. The external ends of the tubes may be bundled together. The tubes may be of a length that causes the external ends to be near the opening in the surface of the body while the tubes are in the cavity. A seal may be configured to prevent fluid that originates from the cavity from entering into the external ends of the tubes while they are near the opening in the surface of the body. The seal may include a gasket that is pressed against the external ends of the tubes. The gasket may have openings that align with channels within the external ends of the tubes.
