The negative pressure dressing includes a compressive layer and a sealing layer. The compressive layer includes a first surface and a second, treatment area-facing. The compressive layer further includes a first elongated portion configured to be positioned proximate the joint. The first elongated portion includes a first end and a second end. The compressive layer further includes a second elongated portion spaced from the first elongated portion and configured to be positioned proximate the joint. The second elongated portion includes a first end and a second end. The compressive layer further includes an interconnecting portion extending between the first elongated portion and the second elongated portion. The interconnecting portion is configured to overlie at least a portion of the joint. The compressive layer further includes a plurality of channels formed in the first surface and extending proximate the second surface. The plurality of channels is formed in at least one of the first end and the second end of the first elongated portion and at least one of the first end and the second end of the second elongated portion. The sealing layer is configured to form a seal around a perimeter of the negative pressure dressing.

Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for treating a tissue site with reduced pressure includes a dressing adapted to be positioned proximate the tissue site. An absorbent may be adapted to be fluidly coupled to the manifold, and an ion exchange member may be adapted to be fluidly coupled between the manifold and the absorbent. A sealing member may be adapted to cover the tissue site to form a sealed space having the manifold disposed therein. A reduced-pressure source may be adapted to be fluidly coupled to the manifold.

Abstract: Sealing members and methods of manufacturing the same are described. A first film layer and a second film layer each having a first side and a second side can be provided. A first adhesive can be coupled to the second side of the first film layer to form a first adhesive layer. A second adhesive can be coupled to the second side of the second film layer to form a second adhesive layer, and a third adhesive can be coupled to the first side of the second film layer to form a third adhesive layer. One or more perforations can be formed through the third adhesive layer, the second film layer, and the second adhesive layer. A first side of the third adhesive layer can be coupled to a second side of the first adhesive layer.

Abstract: A system that may be adapted to distribute reduced pressure to a tissue site may include a dressing and a sealing member. The dressing may include a manifold layer, a storage layer, and a plurality of retainers. The manifold layer may be adapted to be positioned proximate the tissue site, and the storage layer may be positioned proximate the manifold layer. The plurality of retainers may be disposed in the storage layer. Each of the retainers may define a fluid communication channel through the storage layer. The retainers may be adapted to substantially preclude deformation of the storage layer into the fluid communication channels. The sealing member may be adapted to cover the dressing and to provide a fluid seal between the sealing member and the tissue site.

Abstract: A system for treating a tissue site includes a pressure source to apply reduced pressure, and a manifold in fluid communication with the pressure source to provide reduced pressure to the tissue site. The system includes a drape for adhering to the tissue site to cover the tissue site and the manifold. The drape has a film layer having a thickness less than about 15 microns, and an adhesive coupled to the film layer. The adhesive seals the film layer to the tissue site to create a sealed space having the manifold therein. The adhesive is sufficiently thick to limit leaks between the film layer and the tissue site.

Abstract: Pump cassettes, wound-treatment apparatuses and methods. In some embodiments, a pump cassette comprises: a pump body having a pump chamber, an inlet valve in fluid communication with the pump chamber, and an outlet valve in fluid communication with the pump chamber; a diaphragm coupled to the pump body such that the diaphragm is movable to vary a volume in the pump chamber; and an identifier configured to store one or more properties of the pump cassette such that the identifier is readable by an automated reader to determine the one or more properties. In some embodiments, the pump cassette is configured to be removably coupled to a wound-treatment apparatus having an actuator such that the actuator can be activated to move the diaphragm.

Abstract: A conduit for treating a tissue site with reduced pressure may include a primary lumen and at least one secondary lumen. A wall of the conduit may include a first wall material and a second wall material. The first wall material may comprise a substantially non-absorbent material that is vapor impermeable and liquid impermeable. The second wall material may comprise an absorbent material that is vapor permeable and liquid impermeable. The second wall material may be positioned in fluid contact with the at least one secondary lumen. Other systems, apparatus, and methods are disclosed.
