    摘要: A fax machine is disclosed. A document to be transmitted is placed on the fax machine, and it is determined whether a function for preventing transmission of a “copy prohibited document” is enabled. If the function is disabled, normal fax transmission is performed. If, on the other hand, the function is enabled, a scanner reads all the pages of the document at a time. Then, it is determined whether the read document includes “copy prohibit information” at a predetermined spot. If the copy prohibit information is not detected, a transmission operation is performed and a series of operations is completed. If, on the other hand, the copy prohibit information is detected, the transmission operation is terminated and images and/or text indicating that the transmission is not allowed are displayed. Thus, a series of operations is completed.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a density processing method in which input gray level-output gray level data are previously generated and stored in a first storing device, the input gray level-output gray level data are transferred to a second storing device, and an address in the second storing device is designated on the basis of input gray level data inputted so that output gray level data stored in the specified address in the second storing device is outputted. In the present invention, access addresses to the second storing device are converted depending on the designated copy density, so that input gray level-output gray level characteristics are converted into characteristics corresponding to the designated copy density.

    摘要: A system for making various kinds of examination papers and marking answers written in the papers is disclosed. The system has a data base at which data representing a number of questions are registered, and a paper making apparatus for producing an examination paper by using the question data of the data base. When a desired number of questions is entered on a number designating device, a question making device randomly selects, among the questions registered at the data base, the desired number of questions and writes them in a question storage to thereby make questions. A paper outputting device forms an image representing the questions on a sheet to thereby produce an examination paper. In addition, the system is capable of automatically marking such examination papers.

    摘要: A motor control apparatus for controlling a motor which selectively drives a first mechanism for moving a first object and a second mechanism for moving a second object. Both the first and second mechanisms having a backlash which occurs when the motor is reversed. The first mechanism moves the first object when the motor is rotated in a first direction and the second mechanism moves the second object when the motor is rotated in a second direction. The motor control apparatus includes a driving controller for rotating the motor at a predetermined angle in either the first direction or the second direction based on a predetermined instruction, a determining block for determining whether or not the motor is reversed, and a compensation block for compensating the angle at which the driving controller should rotate the motor so that an angle corresponding to the backlash is included in the angle at which the driving controller should rotate the motor.

    摘要: Disclosed is a fixing device that easily suppresses an excessive temperature increase in a guide plate without extending a warm-up period, the device comprising: guide plate 156 that includes a low-resistance, electrically conductive layer, and guides fixing belt 155 in its rotation direction by contacting its inner surface inside its rotation path; and magnetic flux generator 170 that is positioned outside the rotation path, facing guide plate 156 with fixing belt 155 in between, and generates magnetic flux. Fixing belt 155 includes heat generation layer 155c, which generates heat due to the magnetic flux, and magnetic shunt alloy layer 155d, which turns from ferromagnetic to nonmagnetic when a temperature thereof has exceeded a predetermined temperature. At least one of ends of guide plate 156 in the rotation direction is thick portion 156a having a greater thickness than a central portion of guide plate 156.
