Abstract: The present invention is a digital interactive mobile engagement recharging device for users to plug in personal mobile devices. The recharging device has an interactive touch display screen that connects to a computer and to the Internet to provide remote and real-time content push of interest to a user, and a plurality of recharging connections to accommodate various models and brands of mobile devices. The recharging system collects information about a user's mobile device and provides recharging services to the user's mobile device after the user accepts certain terms or conditions, outputs information such as the recharging status of a user's phone, commercial information selected by a computer based media system, where the selected information is based on the information collected by the input devices of the system and provides pre-selected or user demanded information. It is yet another object of the present invention to provide commercial data to a user based on the interactive information, such as the detected users' characteristics, location or temperature of the venue, and the like.

Abstract: A system and method to render 3D images from a 2D source are described. An embodiment of a method to render 3D images from a 2D source comprises the steps of providing a graphics rendering device to estimate depth of a 2D image; providing video or graphics textures and depth-maps to describe an object in a 3D scene; creating, in one embodiment, a single view angle and in another preferred embodiment at least two view angles of the 3D scene to represent an intraocular distance using the graphics rendering device; and presenting both of the at least two view angles on a display using the graphics rendering device and especially the commonly available 3D imaging technology of the graphics rendering device.

Abstract: A optical storage disk provides multiple logical disks without the need to physically alter the structure of the optical storage disk. According to one example embodiment of the present invention, a dual-layer data disk is adapted to store data in each of two layers readable by an optical disk reader. A first region of the disk includes data recorded for a first logical disk, and a second region is adapted to store data for a second logical disk, and the first and second regions are located on the two layers. Each of the data logical disks includes a lead-in region and a lead-out region and for data therebetween traversing each of the two layers. The lead-out region of the first logical disk stores pointing data which points to the lead-in region of second logical disk, and the logical disks are not necessarily physically contiguous.

Abstract: To minimize the time and resources typically associated with collision detection in a single channel communications system, this invention provides a method and apparatus for a collision based protocol that assures that one device in the system always wins a collision conflict. A device in accordance with this invention that is assured of always winning a collision conflict need not contain a collision detector, nor the storage resources typically used to buffer the effects of a collision. The device is also always assured of continuous transmission access once its transmission begins. This continuous transmission access is particularly well suited for high speed data access devices such as magnetic disks, laser discs, and the like, that access data continually as the disk passes by their read heads.
