    摘要: According to the present invention, it is possible to enhance a performance in accessing a storage system, without performing data migration process between the storages constituting the storage system. A virtualization controller 2 connecting a host computer 1 and a storage 3 constituting the storage system controls a plurality of access paths (path such as port 6—backplane 9—port 6, port 6—backplane 9—storage controller 7—port 6) provided within the virtualization controller. It further performs a control so that an optimum access path is selected for switching, out of the plurality of access paths, based on setting information from a management server 4 by a system administrator and various monitoring results detected by the virtualization controller itself.

    摘要: In a disk array system, data read out and data written anew are temporarily held as former data in a former data holding portion. When a write operation has occurred, a CPU searches the holding portion for write data, it generates update data from the new and former write data items, and it holds the generated update data in an update data holding portion. In addition, the CPU stores the storage address of redundant data associated with the held update data, as log data in a log data holding portion. Further, the CPU operates asynchronously with the write operation to read out the redundant data of the address of the holding portion, to calculate new redundant data from the read redundant data and the held update data, and to write the new redundant data into the address of the log data. On this occasion, a parity area and a data area are separated so as to heighten read/write processing speeds and a parity generation processing speed.

    摘要: Tip ends of hanging strings are connected to appropriate portions on an inner surface of an air bag having an opening portion mounted around an outer periphery of a gas generator, while base ends of the hanging strings are fixed to a retaining ring. The retaining ring is secured to a mounting base so as to clamp and fix the opening portion of the air bag between the retaining ring and the mounting base. When the air bag opening portion is to be fixed to another retaining ring, both the retaining rings for the hanging rings and the air bag opening portion are overlapped to each other and secured to the mounting base. This achieves a simplification in structure of an air bag system and in procedure of assembling the same.

A virtualization controller implements the data transfer and includes first ports for connection with the storage devices, a second port for connection with the host system, a processor, and a memory configured to store volume mapping information which correlates first identification information used by the host system to access a first storage area in one of the storage devices, with second identification information for identifying the first storage area, the correlation being used by the processor to access the first storage area. When data stored in the first storage area is transferred to a second storage area, the processor correlates the first identification information with a third identification information for identifying the second storage area and registers the first identification information and the third identification information in the volume mapping information.
