    Abstract: A vehicular parking system includes vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication system disposed at a first vehicle. The vehicular parking system, as the first vehicle navigates a parking facility in search of an available parking space, receives a parking space availability communication via the V2V communication system. The parking space availability communication originates from a second vehicle that is also navigating the parking facility. The parking space availability communication indicates multiple available parking spaces within the parking facility and the multiple available parking spaces are determined by the second vehicle as the second vehicle navigates the parking facility and passes available parking spaces. The vehicular parking system, responsive to receiving the parking space availability communication, reserves one of the multiple available parking spaces of the parking space availability communication for the first vehicle.

    Abstract: A vehicular communication system includes a communication device in a vehicle. Responsive to the communication device receiving an input from a vehicle system indicative of a service need, the communication device requests an input from the driver of the vehicle pertaining to a desired characteristic of a service provider that can address the service need. Responsive to the communication device receiving the input from the driver, the vehicular communication system determines a plurality of service providers that (i) can address the service need and (ii) has the desired characteristic. The communication device communicates a list of the determined service providers to the driver and, responsive to the driver selecting a service provider from the list, the vehicular communication system sets a navigation system of the vehicle to navigate to the selected service provider.

    Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at a vehicle and having a field of view exterior of the vehicle, an infrared light emitting diode disposed at the vehicle and operable to illuminate a region at least partially within the field of view of the camera, and a control having an image processor that processes image data captured by the camera. The camera captures frames of image data at a first rate, and the infrared light emitting diode is pulsed at a second rate, with the first rate being faster than and a multiple of the second rate. The control processes captured frames of image data when the region is illuminated for a first driving assist function of the vehicle and processes captured frames of image data when the region is not illuminated for a second driving assist function.

    Abstract: A vehicular vision and alert system includes a camera disposed at a windshield of a vehicle so as to have a field of view forward of the vehicle as the vehicle travels along a traffic lane of a road. As the vehicle travels along the road, the system may determine, via processing by an image processor of image data captured by the camera, traffic traveling along another traffic lane and may generate a traffic alert indicative of the determined traffic. As the vehicle travels along the road, the system may determine, via processing of captured image data, a vehicle accident involving another vehicle and may transmit an accident alert communication to a remote system. As the vehicle travels along the road, the system may determine, via processing of captured image data, a traffic jam index representative of a degree of traffic traveling along the other traffic lane.

    Abstract: A road system includes a road surface along which vehicles travel, with the vehicles traveling along the road surface including electric vehicles. A plurality of electrical charging elements is disposed along the road surface. Batteries of electric vehicles traveling along the road surface are electrically charged as the electric vehicles travel along the electrical charging elements disposed along the road surface. A plurality of communication devices along the road surface. The communication devices are operable to wirelessly communicate with vehicles traveling along the road surface. At least some of the communication devices along the road wirelessly communicate lane information to a vehicle traveling along a lane of the road surface. Responsive to the wirelessly communicated lane information, the vehicle maintains its path of travel in the lane traveled along by the vehicle as the vehicle travels along the road surface.

    Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a vehicle camera docking station disposed at a vehicle, a trailer camera docking station disposed at a rear of a trailer, and a camera operable to capture image data and to communicate captured image data to a data receiving device at the vehicle. When the trailer is not hitched to the vehicle, the camera is disposed at the vehicle camera docking station so as to have a field of view rearward of the vehicle. When the trailer is hitched to the vehicle, the camera is removed from the vehicle camera docking station and disposed at the trailer camera docking station so as to have a field of view rearward of the trailer. The camera captures image data and communicates captured image data to the data receiving device, which receives the communicated image data. A display device displays video images derived from the received image data.

    Abstract: A communication system for a vehicle includes an antenna array for transmitting data to at least one other vehicle or structure. A control is operable to adjust a beam transmission of the antenna array responsive to determination of a driving condition of the vehicle. The control may adjust the beam transmission from an omnidirectional beam to a directed beam to enhance the transmission range of the beam. The control may adjust the beam transmission to the directed beam directed rearward of the vehicle responsive to a determination of a highway driving condition. The control may adjust the beam transmission responsive to a determination of at least one of (i) a highway driving condition, (ii) a high traffic driving condition, (iii) an intersection driving condition and (iv) a weather condition at the vehicle.

    Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at a rear of a trailer and having a field of view rearward of the trailer. A transmitting antenna is disposed at a front of the trailer and is electrically connected to the camera via an antenna cable. The transmitting antenna receives, via the antenna cable, image data captured by the camera, and the transmitting antenna wirelessly transmits the received captured image data. A receiving device is disposed at a vehicle towing the trailer, and a display device is disposed in the vehicle and viewable by a driver of the vehicle. The receiving device receives the transmitted captured image data, and the display device displays images derived from the received captured image data.
