摘要: A phase changing device for automobile engine, the device comprising curved first guide grooves formed in the control rotor, each groove skewed with respect to a circumference of a circle centered at the rotational axis; oblique guide grooves each groove formed in the middle rotor and extending at an angle with respect to a radius crossing the groove; second guide grooves formed in the drive rotor and skewed with respect to the circumference of a circle centered at the rotational axis, block sections each extending along, and movable in, the respective first guide; first slide members each protruding from the respective block section for engagement with, and for movement in, the respective skewed guide groove; and phase varying members each having a second slide member that extends through an escape groove formed in the middle rotor and engages the respective second guide groove to move in the second guide groove.

摘要: This invention provides an improved variable cam phaser for an automobile engine equipped with a controller capable of enabling execution of a given phase angle varying command in a shortened response time. The variable cam phaser has two control rotors which are arranged coaxial with a camshaft and rotatable relative to each other under the influence of two electromagnetic actuators and driven by the crankshaft of the engine. The variable cam phaser also has a relative phase angle varying mechanism for varying the relative phase angle of the camshaft relative to the crankshaft. When the two electromagnetic actuators are simultaneously energized, the two control rotors are held mutually unrotatable. However, when the braking torque of one actuator is reduced, the control rotor associated with that actuator is rotated relative to the other control rotor to immediately start the execution of the command.

摘要: [Problems]To provide a variable phase controller for an engine which assures easy manufacturing at low cost, reduces operating sound, and includes a relative rotational motion mechanism enabling quick change of a phase angle between a cam shaft and a crank shaft.[Means for Solving Problems]A variable phase controller for an engine controls the rotational motion of a first control rotor for changing the relative phase angle between a crank shaft and a cam shaft to either a phase-lead angle side or a phase-lag angle side in accordance with the direction of such control. The variable phase controller has a first braking means for rotating the first control rotor to one side, and a second braking means for braking a second control rotor and rotating the first control rotor in the direction opposite to the rotation caused by the first braking means via a second intermediate rotor (or cam guide plate) displaced by the force applied by a movable element (or rotating eccentric circular cam) displaced in guide grooves by braking of the second control rotor, thereby controlling the rotational motion of the first control rotor.

摘要: OBJECTTo provide a simpler, axially shorter, and easy-to-manufacture phase varying apparatus for an automobile engine, utilizes a four-link mechanism consisting of multiple circular members. MEANS FOR ACHIEVING THE OBJECTAn inventive phase varying apparatus has: a camshaft; drive rotor driven by the crankshaft; a first and a second torque means for rotating a first and a second control rotors, all aligned coaxially and rotatable relative to each other; and a phase angle varying mechanism operably coupled to the first and second torque means, so as to varying the relative phase angle between the camshaft and the crankshaft. The phase angle varying mechanism comprises: a circular eccentric cam integral with the camshaft; a first and a second link each having a shape of a substantially cylindrical form; and a quasi-radial guide mechanism and displacement forcing means collaborating with each other for displacing either one of the first and second links in a quasi-radial direction of the rotor.
