    摘要: This invention provides an improved variable cam phaser for an automobile engine equipped with a controller capable of enabling execution of a given phase angle varying command in a shortened response time. The variable cam phaser has two control rotors which are arranged coaxial with a camshaft and rotatable relative to each other under the influence of two electromagnetic actuators and driven by the crankshaft of the engine. The variable cam phaser also has a relative phase angle varying mechanism for varying the relative phase angle of the camshaft relative to the crankshaft. When the two electromagnetic actuators are simultaneously energized, the two control rotors are held mutually unrotatable. However, when the braking torque of one actuator is reduced, the control rotor associated with that actuator is rotated relative to the other control rotor to immediately start the execution of the command.

    摘要: This invention provides an improved variable cam phaser for an automobile engine equipped with a controller capable of enabling execution of a given phase angle varying command in a shortened response time. The variable cam phaser has two control rotors which are arranged coaxial with a camshaft and rotatable relative to each other under the influence of two electromagnetic actuators and driven by the crankshaft of the engine. The variable cam phaser also has a relative phase angle varying mechanism for varying the relative phase angle of the camshaft relative to the crankshaft. When the two electromagnetic actuators are simultaneously energized, the two control rotors are held mutually unrotatable.     摘要: The invention provides a variable cam phaser for an automobile engine, equipped with a self-locking mechanism which is simpler in structure, cost effective, and easy to manufacture. The self-locking mechanism includes: a eccentric circular members (12) integral with the camshaft (6) and a support groove (15) for supporting the eccentric circular members from the both sides thereof at positions offset from the camshaft axis towards the eccentric cam center; a lock plate integrally held with the control rotor by means of a coupling mechanism; and a cylindrical portion belonging to the drive rotor in which the lock plate is inscribed. The self-locking mechanism prevents an unexpected change in the phase angle caused by an external disturbing toque transmitted to the camshaft via the crankshaft of the engine.

    摘要: The mechanical lash adjuster is arranged between a cam and one end of the stem of a valve urged by a valve spring. The lash adjuster comprises an unrotatable housing having a thread, a plunger subjected to the force of the cam and formed with a thread in engagement with the thread of the housing, and a plunger spring urging the plunger against the action of the valve spring. The lead and flank angles of the engaging threads are set such that the engagement threads can slidably rotate under a given shaft load applied to the plunger unless the frictional torque TB, generated by the friction between the slidable frictional surface F2 of the plunger and a shaft load transmission member to act on the plunger, exceeds the thrust torque TF imparted by the shaft load to the plunger.

The variable phase controller has a first braking means for rotating the first control rotor to one side, and a second braking means for braking a second control rotor and rotating the first control rotor in the direction opposite to the rotation caused by the first braking means via a second intermediate rotor (or cam guide plate) displaced by the force applied by a movable element (or rotating eccentric circular cam) displaced in guide grooves by braking of the second control rotor, thereby controlling the rotational motion of the first control rotor.

    摘要: The invention provides a phase variable device for use with a car engine, capable of preventing the phase angle of the camshaft from varying relative to the first circular rotational body even if the camshaft is subjected to the reaction of a valve spring, and capable of reducing the impulsive generated in the phase variable device and delivered to the engine. MEANS FOR ACHIEVING THE OBJECTThe objects can be achieved by the inventive phase variable device which includes: a first rotational body, an intermediate rotational bode integral with the camshaft of an engine, a second rotational body, all rotatably arranged on the same camshaft, the device adapted to control phase angle of the second rotational body, thereby varying the phase angle of the intermediate rotational body. The second rotational body is placed in substantial contact with the inside of the hollow cylindrical section of the intermediate rotational body. A circular eccentric cam, integral with the second rotational body and adapted to rotate about an eccentric center thereof, causes a cam guide plate to reciprocate in the direction perpendicular to the rotational axis, which in turn causes slide members protruding from the cam guide plate to move in the radial guides formed in one of the first rotational body and the intermediate rotational body, as well as in skewed guides which are formed in the other one and skewed with respect to a circumference coaxial with the skewed guides.
