An area of the long sideways rail surface is larger than an area of the lengthwise rail surface.

In a magnetic disk unit, in the control of a load/unload function of a magnetic head relative to a magnetic disk, the magnetic disk and the magnetic head are prevented from contacting each other and damage thereto is avoided by utilizing a shallow dual-step subambient pressure slider and carrying out loading/unloading at a rotational speed lower than a rated rotational speed of the normally operated magnetic disk at which writing and reading (R/W) of data to and from the magnetic disk by the magnetic head is normally carried out.

A mouth piece unit (6) for a semi-closed type breathing device (1) in which when pressing down a start button (102), the entirety of a movable assembly (70) moves and an external opening (73) opens, whereby a mouth piece (62) is caused to protrude, allowing a diver to hold it in his/her mouth. Since the movable assembly (70) is held at that position even if the start button (102) is restored, an inhalation gas supply valve (21) is held in an open state by an engagement bar (74), whereby the supply of inhalation gas is continued. When the mouth piece (62) comes out of the mouth of the diver, the movable assembly (70) is restored and the external opening (73) is automatically closed, thereby preventing water from entering the inside therethrough from the outside. To drain water, when the start button (102) is kept pressed down, purge gas is supplied from a purge gas supply valve (22), a water draining opening (120) opens, and a breathing air hose connecting port (61a) is closed, this allowing water to be automatically drained. Thus, it is possible to realize a mouth piece unit for a semi-closed type breathing device that can easily be used by a novice.

In an ophthalmological measurement method and apparatus, a laser beam of predetermined diameter is projected to the eye fundus and movement of a speckle pattern formed by light scattered by blood cells in blood vessel is detected by a photosensor as fluctuation in speckle light intensity to produce a speckle signal. The speckle light intensity will fluctuate more rapidly with a smaller output from the photosensor when cell velocities are high, while a low cell travel speed will decrease the lowering of the output therefrom. The speckle signal is integrated to produce an integrated speckle signal which is evaluated in terms of a rate of change to discriminate edges of a blood vessel. The integrated speckle signal is used to identify the blood vessel for automatic tracking of the blood vessel or for measurement of its diameter.

The stream signal transmission device includes at least one reception unit that receives a stream signal to which a time code is attached from a network, at least one extraction unit that extracts the time code from the stream signal received by the reception unit, and at least one delay control unit that determines an output time by adding a predetermined fixed delay to a time indicated by the time code extracted by the extraction unit, and outputs the stream signal received by the reception unit after holding the stream signal up to the output time.
