    Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to layer interactions for flushed data in HARQ buffer. In an embodiment, an apparatus receives from a network device an indication indicating that one or more RLC entities of the apparatus are not reset or reestablished. The apparatus indicates, from a MAC entity of the apparatus to an RLC entity of the one or more RLC entities of the apparatus, information related to RLC data. The information related to the RLC data is determined based on at least one MAC PDU associated with one or more HARQ buffers that are flushed or to be flushed. In this way, the data flushed from the HARQ buffers upon LTM can be immediately retransmitted by the RLC entity without waiting for RLC status report from the network, the interruption of data communication can be reduced, and LTM is optimized.

    Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to initiation of small data transmission (SDT). A first device determines whether SDT is allowed to be initiated at a first protocol layer of the first device. In accordance with a determination that the SDT is allowed to be initiated at the first protocol layer, the first device determines whether the SDT is allowed to be initiated at a second protocol layer of the first device. In accordance with a determination that the SDT is allowed to be initiated at the second protocol layer, the first device initiates, via the first protocol layer, a communication procedure for the SDT with a second device. Through this solution, it is possible to avoid unnecessary interactions between protocol layers as well as avoid false resume of the radio bearer when the SDT procedure cannot be performed.

    Abstract: A UE receives configuration of early state handling assistance information and determines whether early state handling assistance should be reported in a request for a connection to a network. The UE requests the connection to the network, performing one of the following: reporting the early state handling assistance from the network using RRC message(s); or not reporting the early state handling assistance from the network, by the UE using RRC message(s) without an indication of early state handling assistance.
