The at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to determine that at least one obstacle has entered at least one predefined region and transmit to at least one network entity at least one indication comprising at least one predicted-power back off (P-PBO) value. The at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to generate at least one predictive-PBO report (P-PBOR) and transmit the at least one P-PBOR to the at least one network entity.

Abstract: A method may include determining an uplink loss metric for an uplink communication path from a user equipment to a base station in a wireless network based at least on an uplink transmit beam for the user equipment and an uplink receive beam for the base station; determining a downlink loss metric for the downlink communication path from the base station to the user equipment based at least on a downlink transmit beam for the base station and a downlink receive beam for the user equipment; and determining, based on the uplink loss metric and the downlink loss metric, an uplink/downlink beam correspondence misalignment for the user equipment that indicates that the uplink transmit beam for the user equipment is misaligned with the downlink receive beam for the user equipment. Abstract: The disclosure presents a method and system for enabling the monitoring of more than one propagation link (PL) between two transceivers, such as a fifth-generation (5G) broadband cellular base station (gNB) and user equipment (UE). The PL can represent a radiation pattern emitted by a MIMO antenna port. The monitoring can capture and record PL quality parameters and associate them to a PL index (PLI). The process can periodically cycle through the set of available PLs and select a best fit PLI configuration. The best fit PLI can be one that satisfies a link quality threshold and PL efficiency thresholds. The selected PLI can be communicated to both transceivers using parameter containers added to conventional control signals. Data messages communicated between the transceivers can utilize the selected best fit PLI configuration.

Abstract: Various example embodiments provide a system for mitigating effects of a power back-off due to exposure of user's body to transmitted power. A user equipment (UE) may determine triggering of a power exposure event, for example a body of a user coming close enough to trigger a maximum permissible exposure (MPE) limit. The UE may then send an emergency signal including an indication of the triggered power exposure event to a base station. Various beneficial options for rapidly providing the emergency signal are disclosed. The UE and the base station may enter an emergency mode, where the UE may provide further information on its power back-off conditions. Based on the information received from the UE, the base station may determine to perform adaptation of the radio link to avoid radio link failure. Apparatuses, methods, and computer programs are disclosed.
