    摘要: An image processing apparatus has a memory device for storing pixel image data including both halftone image data such as data of image of a photograph having a gradation and line image data such as data of text containing characters. The storage is conducted on the basis of blocks each having a predetermined number of pixels. The mean information quantity of the halftone image data per pixel stored in the memory means is not greater than the information quantity of the line image data per pixel stored in the memory means. The halftone image data being compressed on the basis of the block. Therefore, both the halftone image data and line image data can be stored in a small memory by using common addresses, without causing any degradation of the image quality.

    摘要: This disclosure relates to an image forming apparatus in which an image is formed by deflecting a light beam a minute distance in a sub-scanning direction every pixel of image data. By controlling the emission intensity of the light beam utilizing a .gamma. correction, and by controlling the emission time of the light beam utilizing PWM control, the beam spot can be adjusted to control the dot size of the image. Accordingly, the dot density in image formation can be raised by minute deflection in the sub-scanning direction, and the reproducibility of characters and graphics is improved, particularly in the oblique direction. Furthermore, tone reproducibility of multi-tone image data is enhanced by minute deflection in the sub-scanning direction and adjustment of image dot size.

Also included are a first dichroic layer for separating the illumination light into a first light component and a first mixed light of different wavelengths to transmit the first light component to one of the displays, a second dichroic layer for separating the mixed light into second and third light component of different wavelengths to transmit the second and third light component to the other two of the displays, respectively, a third dichroic layer for combining the first and second information lights from the first two displays, and a fourth dichroic layer for further combining the information light combined by the third dichroic layer with a third information light from the third display.

    摘要: A color separation circuit includes a comb filter for generating output signals corresponding to the sum of and difference between a composite input video signal and a signal prepared by delaying the composite input video signal by one horizontal scanning time period. The difference signal from the comb filter is sampled at timings with a phase difference of 90.degree. of a chrominance signal contained therein. By passing through a low-pass filter the signal sampled at a timing corresponding to the 33.degree. phase in each cycle of to chrominance signal, an EQ-chrominance signal is obtained. By passing through a low-pass filter the signal sampled at a timing corresponding to the 123.degree. phase in each cycle of the chrominance signal, an EI-chrominance signal is obtained.
