    摘要: The corrosion of iron and steel surfaces by an aqueous alkanolamine conditioning solution used to remove CO.sub.2 from a gas stream is effectively inhibited by a combination of a vanadium containing ion and a di- or triamine. A surprising fact is that some of the amine co-inhibitors have been identified by others in the art as promoting ferrous metal corrosion.

    摘要: A process is provided for recovering substantially pure triethylenediamine in liquid lower alkylene diol solutions directly from the crude triethylenediamine reaction mixture without resort to a need to purify the triethylenediamine by crystallization. The process includes initially admixing a lower alkylene diol with a crude triethylenediamine liquid reaction product mixture. The admixture thus formed is then heated to remove water and other low boiling impurities. The crude triethylene diaminediol bottoms mixture is then codistilled to recover a pure triethylene diamine product in diol solvent which can be used directly to catalyze urethane systems.

    摘要: Amphoteric surface active monomers and monomer solutions are revealed.The monomers are synthesized by reacting a tertiary amine substituted acrylamide, an alkylene oxide and a succinic anhydride compound in aprotic polar solvent.These compositions are useful for their surface activity and their ability to copolymerize with water soluble vinyl monomers and impart surface activity to the resulting copolymer. The monomers and copolymers thereof may be used as flocculants or for stabilizing polymeric latex.
