Abstract:
A roll of sheet product, in particular of tissue paper, with a central hole along its winding axis includes a cylindrical reinforcing element onto which the paper is wound. The reinforcing element includes at least one ring joined to the innermost turn of the roll, with a width less than the width of the roll and provided with a means of extracting the ring by pulling substantially along the axis of the roll.
Abstract:
The sheet of tissue paper includes at least one first embossed zone (A1, A2) having protrusions on a surface corresponding to alveoles on the other. The alveoles have a substantially polygonal base and the sheet includes at least one second, unembossed zone (B). In the invention, the alveoles 101′, 102′ are configured along at least one array, the mutually facing sides of two adjacent alveoles define a bridge (P) having rectilinear or substantially rectilinear edges of length L which is larger than its greatest width D, one or several bridges connected to each other subtending a path preferably between two second unembossed zones (B) which are separated by at least one first, embossed zone (A1, A2). The invention also relates to a cylinder embossing such a sheet.

Abstract:
A sheet constituted by at least two plies of cellulose wadding or other layer of cellulose fibers having a specific surface weight between 10 and 40 g/m.sup.2 and are embossed and assembled in such a manner that the protrusions defining the embossing patterns are pointing to the inside of the sheet and subtend cavities between them, the sheet being characterized in that the plies (10, 20) are embossed with different embossing patterns, a first pattern composed of first protrusions (12) having only a small surface at the tops and being at least 30/cm.sup.2 in one of the plies (10), and a second pattern composed of pattern elements (21) formed by second protrusions (22) having elongated tops, where the pattern elements are mutually spaced apart, and are present in the second ply (20).
Abstract:
An absorbent multi-layer sheet, with at least two layers each constituted of at least one embossed ply of creped absorbent paper having a specific surface weight between 10 and 40 g/m.sup.2 per ply, with an external surface forming the outer side of the multi-layer sheet and an inner surface, the inner surface of the first layer including first and second protrusions and the inner surface of the second layer including third protrusions nested between the-protrusions of the first layer, the two layers being bonded together by at least part of the protrusion tips of one layer adhesively joined to the other layer between two protrusions, is characterized in that the bonding is implemented by the first protrusions of the first layer, the second protrusions having a lesser height than the first ones and their tips being adhesive-free.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for checking the surface state of one face (2) of a solid (1) in order to locate shape defects which may be present therein. The observation of the face to be checked takes place by means of photography using a large field video camera (3) and a small field video camera (4). The size of the located defects is measured by an optoelectronic sensor or probe (11). The apparatus can be controlled by an operator or can have automatic control.
Abstract:
A combined sheet material including at least two absorbent sheets, such as of cellulose-cotton, each having a density of between from 10 to 40 g/m.sup.2. Each of the sheets is separately embossed by calendaring them into a pattern of protuberances distributed in a first pitch along a first direction for each sheet (P.sub.1 sm, P.sub.2 sm) and in a second pitch in a second direction for each sheet (P.sub.1 st, P.sub.2 st) which subtends the first direction at an angle other than zero. The end of the protuberances extending away from the plane of each of the sheets includes a flat bonding element whereby the two sheets are bonded to each other, preferably by gluing. The pattern of each of the sheets is characterized in that the first pitch of each sheet along the first direction is different and related by the equation..vertline.1/P.sub.1 sm-1/P.sub.2 sm.vertline..gtoreq.1/L1wherein L1 is a predetermined value corresponding to the dimension of a segment within the combined sheet material in which at least one spot capable of bonding the two sheets together is present regardless of the relative position of the two patterns.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are described for computing modular inverses of odd input values modulo 2N (or modulo xN, for example in some Galois field) to perform a modular multiplication in cryptographic processing systems. In one embodiment an approximation is computed having 2k bits of the modular inverse of the odd input value without multiplications, for example using a binary extended Euclidean algorithm. A sequence of log2N−k Newton-Raphson or similarly quadratically convergent iterations are applied to the approximation using an extended precision multiplier to generate the modular inverse of the odd input value modulo 2N (or modulo xN), the modular inverse having up to N bits of precision. The modular inverse of the odd input value is then used in a modular multiplication to perform cryptographic operations and/or cyclic redundancy checks on communication data.

Abstract:
Methods, apparatus and media for performing polynomial arithmetic operations over a Galois field having characteristic 2 and size 1 are disclosed. Such methods, apparatus and media include generating a binary representation of a polynomial over a Galois field having characteristic 2 and size 1, generating a plurality of right shifted binary representations of the first polynomial, and generating a binary representation of the polynomial reciprocal based upon a bitwise exclusive-OR of the binary representation of the polynomial and one or more right shifted binary representations selected from the plurality of right shifted binary representations.
