Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. In one aspect, the apparatus is configured to determine a target receiver power level for uplink transmissions received at the apparatus, to determine uplink power control information based on the determined target receiver power level for UL MU-MIMO transmission or UL OFDMA transmission, and to transmit a frame that includes the determined uplink power control information to a station scheduled by the apparatus for uplink transmission.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A method for wireless communication at an access point may include identifying a number of stations to receive data from the access point, and generating a downlink frame to transmit the data to the identified number of stations. The downlink frame may include a first signaling field (e.g., a wireless local area network (WLAN) signaling field) directed to the identified number of stations. The first signaling field may include a first segment and a second segment. The first segment may include information common to each of the identified number of stations. The second segment may include at least one information block. Each information block may be separately encoded for each of the identified number of stations. The method may also include transmitting the downlink frame to the identified number of stations.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and computer program products for improving training field design in packets with increased symbol durations are disclosed. In one aspect, a method of transmitting a packet on a wireless communication network is disclosed. The method includes transmitting a preamble of the packet over one or more space-time-streams, the preamble including one or more training fields configured to be used for channel estimation, the one or more training fields each comprising one or more symbols of a first symbol duration. The method further includes transmitting a payload of the packet over the one or more space-time-streams, the payload comprising one or more symbols of a second symbol duration, the second symbol duration greater than the first symbol duration.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communications at a wireless device. A wireless device may adaptively select a parity check matrix to increase the reliability of signal transmission by adapting to different channel statistics and channel types (e.g., erasure channels, channels with additive white Gaussian noise, and channels with discrete or continuous alphabets). For example, polarization codes (i.e., codes based on rows of a polarization matrix) may be used to construct parity check matrices “on-the-fly” given an estimation of dynamic channel conditions or diverse channel structures. The channel may be decomposed into polarized sub-channels corresponding to the polarization codes, and mutual information profiles may be determined for each of the polarized sub-channels. The parity check matrix corresponding to the polarization codes may be constructed based on the mutual information profile of all polarized sub-channels. The wireless device may encode or decode data based on the constructed parity check matrix.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for managing transmit power in a television white space (TVWS) network. One example method generally includes transmitting a sequence of request-to-send (RTS) messages at different transmit power levels to an apparatus and determining if a clear-to-send (CTS) message was received in response to at least one of the RTS messages corresponding to a particular one of the transmit power levels. Another example method generally includes receiving, at a first apparatus from a second apparatus, a packet that cannot be decoded by the first apparatus; determining at least one of a time or a duration corresponding to the packet; transmitting a query with an indication of the at least one of the time or the duration; and receiving a message from the second apparatus in response to the query, the message identifying the second apparatus as a source of the packet.

Abstract: A method includes generating a data packet at an access point. The data packet is to be communicated using a waveform that includes a first set of tones that is allocated to a first destination device and a second set of tones that is allocated to a second destination device. The first set of tones is non-overlapping with respect to the second set of tones, and each tone of the first set of tones and each tone of the second set of tones is an orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) tone. The method also includes transmitting the data packet to the first destination device via an institute of electrical and electronics engineers (IEEE) 802.11 wireless network and transmitting the data packet to the second destination device via the IEEE 802.11 wireless network.
