In some aspects, a user equipment may transmit, to a base station, an indication of a selected random access channel (RACH) procedure that is selected based at least in part on positioning state information (PSI) associated with the UE, wherein the PSI is based at least in part on one or more positioning measurements obtained by the UE; and receive, from the base station, a configuration of resources for the selected RACH procedure.     Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to maintaining, defining, configuring and implementing a coverage enhancement mode defined for radio access network. A base station may maintain parameters that define multiple coverage enhancement modes in a lookup table and may select a first coverage enhancement mode from the two or more coverage enhancement modes for use with a first user equipment to accommodate use of one or more carrier frequencies, time or frequency duplexing mode, cell size, capabilities of the first user equipment or a channel measurements report of the first user equipment, and schedule a set of control and data channels to be used for communicating with the first user equipment using a first transmission scheme defined by first parameters associated with the first coverage enhancement mode. The set of control and data channels may include uplink control and data channels and downlink control and data channels.

    Abstract: A random access configuration information based on a reference SCS may allow for a unified coordinate system used by the base station and UEs that describes the time-frequency resource configuration for a two-step RACH procedure. The apparatus receives, from a base station, random access configuration information for the base station. The apparatus determines a first time duration for a preamble of a first random access message based on the random access configuration information received from the base station and a reference SCS associated with an uplink BWP configured for the first random access message. The apparatus determines a second time duration for a payload of the first random access message based on the random access configuration information received from the base station and the reference SCS. The apparatus transmits the first message to the base station to initiate a random access procedure.
