Abstract: Various aspects of a system and method for generation of a preventive alert are disclosed herein. The system comprises one or more circuits in a vehicle configured to retrieve sensor data associated with the vehicle and/or obstacle information generated by one or more sensors of the vehicle, along a path of the vehicle. The system further comprises one or more circuits configured to communicate to a server, a set of data based on the retrieved sensor data and/or the retrieved obstacle information. The generation of an alert to one or more vehicles is controlled by the server, based on the communicated set of data.

In accordance with an embodiment, a unique identifier is received from a communication device at an electronic control unit (ECU) of a first vehicle. The unique identifier is received when the first vehicle has reached a first location along a first portion of the path. A communication channel is established between the first vehicle and the communication device based on the received unique identifier. Data associated with a second portion of the path is received by the ECU from the communication device based on the established communication channel. Alert information associated with the second portion of the path is generated by the ECU based on the received data.

Abstract: Various aspects of a system and method to provide driving assistance to safely overtake a vehicle are disclosed herein. In accordance with an embodiment, an electronic control unit used in a first vehicle is configured to detect a second vehicle in front of the first vehicle. A first position associated with the first vehicle and a second position associated with the detected second vehicle is determined for a first time instance. It may be determined whether a lateral distance between the determined first position and the determined second position is below a pre-defined threshold distance. A first alert is generated when the determined lateral distance is below the pre-defined threshold distance.

Abstract: A damping control device and a damping control method for controlling damping of a vehicle are provided. Damping control of the vehicle is performed by adaptively switching a damping mode while considering energy consumption (fuel economy, a consumption amount of a battery, and the like) according to a state of the vehicle such as a state of an interior of the vehicle, a driving state of the vehicle, and an ambient environment. That is, the state of an interior of the vehicle, the driving state of the vehicle, and the ambient environment are constantly monitored, and the damping mode is switched to a weak damping mode in the case where unnecessity of damping as strong as a current state is determined whereas the damping mode is switched to a strong damping mode in the case where necessity of stronger damping is determined.
