Abstract: A display device includes pixel patterns to display an image. Each pixel pattern is repetitively arranged in row and column directions, including primary pixels, first complex pixels and second complex pixels. Each primary pixel is composed of two primary color sub-pixels configured to provide two primary colors of three primary colors, wherein the three primary colors comprise red, green and blue. Each first complex pixel is composed of one primary color sub-pixel configured to provide a remaining primary color of the three primary colors and a first non-primary color sub-pixel configured to provide a first color selected from non-primary colors, wherein the non-primary colors are different from the three primary colors. Each complex pixel is composed of one primary color sub-pixel configured to provide the remaining primary color and a second non-primary color sub-pixel configured to provide a second color selected from the non-primary colors.

Abstract: A display device includes a display panel, a luminance compensator, and a data driver. The display panel includes a plurality of pixels. The luminance compensator is configured to calculate a scaling factor based on a target current, a black image current, and a sensing current. The target current is calculated based on an input current input to the display panel. The sensing current is measured from the display panel. The data driver is configured to generate a data voltage based on input image data to supply the data voltage to the pixels. The data voltage has a voltage level adjusted based on the scaling factor.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a liquid crystal panel including gate lines, data lines, and pixels, a gate driver, a data driver, and a timing controller. The pixels include first and second pixels. The first and second pixels are arranged in pixel rows adjacent to each other, arranged in different pixel columns, connected to the same gate line, display the same color, and receive data voltages having different polarities from each other. The image data include first pixel data displayed in the first pixels and second pixel data displayed in the second pixels. When the first pixel data have a first grayscale value and the second pixel data have a second grayscale value different from the first grayscale value, the timing controller modulates the first and second pixel data to allow the first and second pixel data to have a grayscale value between the first and second grayscale values.
