    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method, for a first user equipment (UE) in a network including the first UE and a second UE, wherein the first UE is configured to operate as a relay node between the second UE and the network is provided. The method includes receiving, from the second UE, a first message to request establishment of a direct link between the second UE and the first UE, and if a certain condition is satisfied, sending, to the second UE a second message rejecting the request, wherein the condition includes the request is for relaying, congestion control is activated at the first UE, a relay service code (RSC) included in the first message corresponds to a data network name (DNN), and the first UE, to meet the request, needs to perform a protocol data unit (PDU) session establishment procedure for the DNN and/or S-NSSAI.

    Abstract: A method and system in the User Equipment (UE) for maintaining rejected network slice selection assistance information (NSSAI) for Single Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (S-NSSAI) not available due to maximum number of UEs reached per access type. The method comprises receiving a Non-Access Stratum (NAS) message including at least one of a registration accept, registration reject or CONFIGURATION UPDATE COMMAND message along with at least one of rejected Single Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (S-NSSAI(s)) information and a cause for the S-NSSAI not available due to maximum number of UEs reached from a network. Thereafter, the method includes determining by the UE an access type on which the rejected S-NSSAI(s) is applicable based on the received S-NSSAI(s) information and then maintaining a storage of the rejected NSSAI for the S-NSSAI not available due to the maximum number of the UEs reached per access type based on the determination.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method, for a user equipment (UE) is disclosed. The method comprises: transmitting, by the UE to a network entity, a registration request message including a registration type information element (IE) indicating a periodic registration updating or a mobility registration updating; receiving, by the UE from the network entity, a registration accept message including a pending network slice selection assistant information (NSSAI); and determining, by the UE, that a previously received allowed NSSAI as invalid based on the registration accept message.
