Abstract:
Keys of a piano are depressed against the total weight of associated action units and hammers so that balance weight pieces are embedded in the front portion of each key; since the wood bar of the key is expandable and shrinkable due to the conditions of the environment, the weight pieces are liable to come loose; the balance weight piece is formed with ridges and valleys repeated at least 7 times at fine pitches equal to or less than 2 millimeters, and the maximum diameter of the ridges is slightly longer than an inner diameter of a hole formed in the wood bar; while the balance weight piece is being pressed into the hole, the ridges make the inner surface portion elastically deformed; when the balance weight piece reaches the target position, the inner surface portion penetrates into the valleys so that the balance weight piece is lodged therein.

Abstract:
An upright piano includes action units between keys and hammers, and the action units are less prompt so that a missing tone tends to take place in a music passage through high-speed repetition; the action unit is constructed from a whippen assembly, a jack mechanism provided on the whippen assembly and a regulating button mechanism for an escape in cooperation with the jack mechanism, and a compression coil spring is provided between a center rail and the whippen assembly for urging the whippen assembly in a direction toward the original position, thereby accelerating the restoration of jack to the contact with the hammer.
Abstract:
Keys of an acoustic piano require balancers for cancellation of a part of self weight of the action units/hammers; however, the balancers are liable to be dropped off due to the aged deterioration of the wooden bars; in order to keep the balancers stable in the keys against the aged deterioration, the balancer is plastically deformed so as to bite into the wooden bar, the balancer, which is formed with thorns, is rotated so as to make the thorns bite into the wooden bar, the balancer is shaped into a configuration different from the holes so as to exert resilient force on the inner surface in a direction in parallel to the grain of wood, or the balancer is inserted into a constricted hole so as to strongly exert the resilient force on the inner surface, thereby being prevented from the dropping off from the keys.
Abstract:
A grand piano has action units for driving hammers to rotate toward strings, and each action unit is equipped with a repetition mechanism; the repetition mechanism has an elastic guide plate instead of a repetition lever and a repetition spring; and the elastic guide plate per se is deformed after contact with a drop screw, and returns to the initial position for permitting a pianist to play a music tune through repetition of key when the pianist releases the depressed key, whereby the action unit becomes simpler in structure than the conventional action unit.

Abstract:
A safety device for a power window is achieved, which considers variation in capacitance during raising of a window glass, and considers variation in capacitance due to a use situation so as to reduce a possibility of false operation. The safety device has a window position counter that allows repetitive pulses to be generated depending on amount of rotation of a raising/lowering motor that raises or lowers a window glass, and counts the pulses to acquire opening information of the window glass; a storage unit that detects capacitance of an electrode provided on the window glass during raising of a window glass, and stores change in the capacitance with being related to window position information given by the window position counter; and a controller that sets a reversal threshold value with the stored change in capacitance, which is stored in the storage unit with being related to the window position information, as a reference, and reverses the raising/lowering motor to lower the window glass irrespective of a state of the operational switch in the case that a value of capacitance detected by a capacitance detector during raising operation of the window glass exceeds the reversal threshold value for each window position information.

Abstract:
A safety device for power window, which generates pulses by rotation of a raising/lowering motor for raising or lowering a window glass of a power window for vehicle, and determines occurrence of pinching of a foreign substance from change in pulse width during closing operation of a window, and thus reverses window operation into window opening operation, is obtained, wherein false determination due to variation in voltage of a battery hardly occurs.A storage unit that stores a change rate of pulse width of continuous pulses, which is detected by a pulse width detector during raising operation of the window glass in a reference condition, while relating the change rate to window position information given by a window position counter; a calculation unit that calculates the continuous pulse width detected by the pulse width detector during raising operation of the window glass while relating the pulse width to the window position information given by the window position counter; and a control unit that compares a stored value of the change rate of pulse width stored by the storage unit, the stored value being related to the window position information, to a calculation value of a change rate of pulse width calculated by the calculation unit, the calculation value being related to the window position information, and when a difference between both change rates of pulse width exceeds an allowable value, drives the raising/lowering motor in a direction of opening the window glass are provided.
