摘要: A host device requests a recording device to send first information including model information or sequel information expressed as a value in a first range. The host device determines if the model information or the sequel information is contained in the first information sent from the recording device, and acquires the model information from the first information if the model information is contained in the first information. If the sequel information is contained in the first information, the host device requests transmission of second information containing model information expressed as a value in the second range, and acquires model information from the second information. Based on the acquired recording device model information, the host device writes data stored in the host device to the recording device.

摘要: When a customer places a special order that changes the content of a product or processing thereof (non-standard order information), a receipt printing processing method and system also produces a special order seal in connection with printing the sales receipt. The receipt printing processing system has a receipt printer and a label printer that is in communication with the receipt printer. When the system receives transaction processing data generated by a POS register used to take orders, a control unit determines if non-standard order information is contained in the transaction processing data. If so, the control unit controls the generation of seal printing data for printing a special order seal, along with controlling the processing of receipt data and the printing of the receipt.

摘要: When a customer places a special order that changes the content of a product, a receipt printing processing system also produces a special order seal when the sales receipt is printed. The receipt printing processing system has a receipt printer and a label printer that is in communication with the receipt printer. When the receipt printer receives transaction processing data generated by a POS register used to take orders, the receipt printer prints a receipt, determines if special order information is contained in the transaction processing data, and generates seal printing data for printing a special order seal, if the special order information is contained in the transaction processing data. The receipt printer also sends the seal printing data to the label printer for printing a special order seal. Because the receipt printer generates the seal printing data, special order seals can be printed without modifying the application program run by the POS register.

摘要: An apparatus and a method for processing checks and other negotiable instruments efficiently captures MICR data required for electronic payment and an image of the check or negotiable instrument enabling the amount, payee, and other information printed or written on the check face to be clearly read. The image reading unit 11 of the check processing apparatus 110 scans and outputs a gray scale image of the check. A threshold value determination unit 12 sets a threshold value for digitizing the image data based on the density level frequency distribution of primary gray scale image data obtained by the image data reading unit scanning a first scanning area T. This first scanning area contains part of a printed text area 127 where text is printed on the negotiable instrument and part of the background 49 of the negotiable instrument. A digital image processor 20 digitizes and converts secondary gray scale image data to digital image data based on the threshold value set by the threshold value determination unit 12. The secondary gray scale image data is generated by the image reading unit 11 scanning a predefined second scanning area of the negotiable instrument.

摘要: In order to offer a printer capable of high throughput printing even when the same printing or printing that is partially different is repeated, the printing apparatus of present invention equipped with a storage unit for storing print image data based on print data received from the host device in a designated position and a printing controller and printer engine that performs print processing on the recording medium based on the print image data stored in the storage unit in accordance with control data received from the host device. Specifically, this printing apparatus features an erasure unit for selectively deleting print image data that has undergone the print processing from the storage unit in accordance with control data received from the host device. Also, the printing controller is preferably configured such that it performs the print processing in accordance with first and second types of control data, such that the erasure unit performs erasure processing in accordance with the first control data and does not perform erasure processing in accordance with the second control data.

摘要: While eliminating the need for a dedicated on-line selector switch, a printing apparatus and control method is provided to improve the processes required to replenish consumable printing materials consumed during the printing operation. Using a transport mechanism for transporting the print medium and a printing mechanism for printing to the print medium, the printing apparatus accomplishes the printing process based on data received from a host device, selectively switches between an on-line state and an off-line state and notifies the host device of the currently selected state. The printing apparatus further comprises sensors for detecting the presence of consumable products, including roll paper and ink, that are consumed by the printing process, a switch with two functional settings, and a control device. The two functional settings of the switch are an on-line function commanding a transition from the off-line state to the on-line state, and a second function for specifying the process, such as a paper feed operation, to be executed by the printing apparatus when consumable materials are replenished. The control device causes the printing apparatus to shift to the off-line state when a sensor detects that a particular consumable material is not present, and selects the on-line function of the switch when a sensor detects after switching to the off-line state that a particular consumable material is again present and available for printing.
