    摘要: A control system controls an electrically heated catalyst for purifying exhaust gases emitted from an internal combustion engine. Voltage applied to the electrically heated catalyst and electric current flowing through the same are detected. A changeover is made between supply and interrupt of power to the electrically heated catalyst. A parameter indicative of an operative state of the electrically heated catalyst is calculated based on the detected voltage and the detected current, and the operative state of the electrically heated catalyst is detected based on the parameter. The changeover between the supply and interrupt of power to the electrically heated catalyst is controlled based the operative state of the electrically heated catalyst thus detected.

    摘要: A failure detection system detects a failure occurring in an exhaust secondary air supply system of an internal combustion engine, and has a catalytic converter installed in an exhaust pipe of an exhaust system of the engine for reducing pollutants from exhaust gases emitted from the engine, a conduit connected, at one end, to the exhaust pipe at a location upstream of the catalytic converter and an air pump connected to an opposite end of the conduit for supplying compressed air in the conduit. The conduit is closed by the a valve which opens in response to the negative pressure and a second valve which opens in response to the conduit pressure. In the system a first prescribed level and the second prescribed level are set and two pressure switches are provided for generating output at the levels. A failure occurring in the air pump and the valve is detected based on operation of the air pump and the output of the pressure detectors. Alternatively, the failure is detected by changing the timing of the termination of the air pump and closing of the second valve while using one switch and the second prescribed level. The system is simple in configuration.

    摘要: A control system for controlling an alternator driven by an engine, for generating electric power, has a changeover switch for selectively switching destination of electric power generated by the alternator to a plurality of electric loads having respective different load voltage values. An ECU controls switching operation of the changeover switch and controls the alternator electric power, according to a direction in which the changeover switch has been switched. The ECU detects voltage of the alternator electric power when the destination of the alternator electric power is to be switched from a first electric load having a higher load voltage value of the plurality of electric loads to a second electric load having a lower load voltage value of the same, and causes the changeover switch to switch the destination of the alternator electric power from the first electric load to the second electric load after it is determined that the voltage of the alternator electric power has been changed from a predetermined higher voltage value to a predetermined lower voltage value.

    摘要: A novel NiMnZn-based ferrite which can reduce magnetic loss (core loss) at a high frequency of about 2 MHz or higher and achieve higher saturated magnetic flux density while forming high sintered density is provided. The NiMnZn-based ferrite contains a main component comprising 54.0 to 57.5 mol % of iron oxide in terms of Fe2O3, 2.0 to 7.0 mol % of zinc oxide in terms of ZnO, 0.5 to 4.7 mol % of nickel oxide in terms of NiO, and a remainder of manganese oxide (in terms of MnO); and an accessory component comprising 100 to 1000 ppm by weight of Si in terms of SiO2, 800 to 3000 ppm by weight of Ca in terms of CaCO3, and 520 to 1000 ppm by weight of Nb in terms of Nb2O5 with respect to the main component; while having an average ferrite crystal particle size of 2.1 to 8.5 μm.
