摘要: A method of manufacture for a carbon/carbon part including a method to remove contamination from an intermediate product of the carbon/carbon part and furnace utilizing a gaseous reducing agent hydrogen gas to reduce the contaminates, thereby causing the contaminates to transition to a gaseous state at relatively lower temperatures. 摘要: A refractory lining in a combustion chamber operating in a reducing atmosphere. The lining includes at least one or more Zirconia (Zr)-based refractory lining members comprising one or more Zr-based parts. The Zr-based parts comprise at least 90 wt. %, preferably at least 95 wt. %, of monoclinic ZrO2 and/or partially stabilized ZrO2 and/or fully stabilized ZrO2, wherein the total content of tetragonal and cubic ZrO2 amounts to at least 20 wt. %, preferably more than 35 wt. %, as well as Zr based refractory lining members and methods for manufacturing the Zr based refractory lining members.

摘要: Shaped ceramic abrasive particles include a first surface having a perimeter having a perimeter comprising at least first and second edges. A first region of the perimeter includes the second edge and extends inwardly and terminates at two corners defining first and second acute interior angles. The perimeter has at most four corners that define acute interior angles. A second surface is disposed opposite, and not contacting, the first surface. A peripheral surface is disposed between and connects the first and second surfaces. The peripheral surface has a first predetermined shape. Methods of making the shaped ceramic abrasive particles, and abrasive articles including them are also disclosed.

摘要: A method for producing a refractory lining in a combustion chamber operating in a reducing atmosphere. The lining includes at least one or more Zirconia (Zr)-based refractory lining members comprising one or more Zr-based parts. The Zr-based parts comprise at least 90 wt. %, preferably at least 95 wt. %, of monoclinic ZrO2 and/or partially stabilized ZrO2 and/or fully stabilized ZrO2, wherein the total content of tetragonal and cubic ZrO2 amounts to at least 20 wt. %, preferably more than 35 wt. %, as well as Zr based refractory lining members and methods for manufacturing the Zr based refractory lining members.

摘要: Provided is a transparent spinel sintered body which is formed from an Mg—Al spinel powder having an Al/Mg ratio of from 1.97 to 2.03 or a mixed powder of an Mg oxide and an Al oxide, and wherein the total content of metal impurities excluding Al and Mg is less than 100 ppm. A sample of this transparent spinel sintered body having a thickness of 3 mm has a total light transmittance of 80% or more in the thickness direction for the wavelength range of from 190 nm to 400 nm; and this transparent spinel sintered body is usable as a medium that transmits light from an ultraviolet light emitting element.

摘要: A solid oxide fuel cell includes a cathode, and an anode, and a solid electrolyte layer disposed between the cathode and the anode. The cathode includes a complex oxide having a perovskite structure expressed by the general formula ABO3. A standard deviation value for the atomic percentage of respective elements at the A site measured using energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy at 10 spots in a single field on the sectional surface of the cathode is no more than 10.4.

摘要: An alumina sintered body of the present invention has a degree of c-plane orientation of 5% or more, which is determined by a Lotgering method using an X-ray diffraction profile in a range of 2θ=20° to 70° obtained under X-ray irradiation, and an XRC half width of 15.0° or less in rocking curve measurement, an F content of less than 0.99 mass ppm when measured by D-SIMS, a crystal grain diameter of 15 to 200 μm, and 25 or less pores having a diameter of 0.2 μm to 1.0 μm when a photograph of a viewing area 370.0 μm in a vertical direction and 372.0 μm in a horizontal direction taken at a magnification factor of 1000 is visually observed.

摘要: A mullite-containing sintered body according to the present invention contains mullite and at least one selected from the group consisting of silicon nitride, silicon oxynitride, and sialon. It is preferable that the mullite-containing sintered body have a thermal expansion coefficient of less than 4.3 ppm/° C. at 40° C. to 400° C., an open porosity of 0.5% or less, and an average grain size of 1.5 μm or less.
