摘要： A display device or a display system with which a viewer can feel a strong or natural stereoscopic effect in a two-dimensional image and is less likely to be fatigued is provided. The display system includes a display portion, a detection portion, and a control portion. The display portion is flexible. The detection portion is configured to detect the conditions of a viewer's eye to obtain detection information and to supply the detection information to the control portion. The control portion is configured to extract information on the viewer's fatigue from the detection information and to change the curvature of the display portion on the basis of the information on the viewer's fatigue. The central angle of the curved surface of the display portion is preferably greater than or equal to 20° and less than 90°.

In a display device, a plurality of display panels are arranged to partly overlap one another. In two of the overlapping display panels, a display panel positioned on the display surface side includes a region transmitting visible light that is adjacent to a display portion, and the region transmitting visible light overlaps with a pixel of a display panel positioned on the lower side. Furthermore, in at least a display portion of the display panel placed on the lower side, an aperture ratio of the pixel overlapping with the region transmitting visible light of the display panel on the upper side is higher than an aperture ratio of another pixel.

A display device which includes two display panels that overlap with each other and in which the area of a portion where the two display panels overlap with each other is variable is provided. The larger the area where the two display panels overlap with each other is, the smaller the display device becomes. The first display panel includes a first region that performs display. The second display panel includes a second region that performs display, and a third region that is adjacent to the second region and transmits visible light. When the third region overlaps with the side of a surface which performs display of the first region, display can be performed using a seamless large display region.
