A method for a base station to transmit multimedia broadcast data in a wireless communication system according to the present invention includes receiving Radio Link Control Service Data Units (RLC SDUs), receiving a control message including information on size of RLC SDU to be transmitted in a synchronization period for current transmission, and processing the RLC SDUs using the size information of RLC SDU. The method and apparatus for transmitting multimedia broadcast data of the present invention is capable of transmitting data stably while maintaining integrity of the multimedia broadcast data on radio channels in a wireless communication system.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for minimizing data forwarding between Evolved Node Bs (ENBs) during a handover. A User Equipment (UE) sends a status report to an ENB of a source cell immediately before the handover occurs. In this manner, a target cell avoids retransmission of the RLC PDUs, which were successfully transmitted but have not yet been ACKnowledged (ACKed) by the UE, thereby minimizing the amount of data being forwarded from the ENB of the source cell to an ENB of the target cell.

A dynamic server initialization system and method includes: a second location server requesting a first location server for a registration to a multicast group associated with a replication group, when the second location server is added to the replication group comprising at least one first location server, transferring status update messages which are received from a predetermined service server, to the second location server, when the registration is completed in the first location server; the second location server requesting the first location server for a message dump when a predetermined reference time elapses; and dumping the status update messages which are maintained in a predetermined message pool of the first location server, to the second location server according to the message dump request.

A power management system optimizing the power consumption management of a terminal that uses limited power is disclosed. In more detail, a power management system of a terminal, which defines levels of power to be supplied in accordance with the operation state of the system or an application that is a currently activated application program and controls the amount of power supplied to software modules and hardware modules of the terminal by the defined levels of power, so that power management can be simply and easily performed and that the power supply amount is optimized to increase a power supply time.

A method for transmitting information in a mobile communication system using HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) service. When an RNC (Radio Network Controller) generates or changes HSDPA service-related information, it transmits the generated or changed information to a Node B and a UE along with an indicator indicating the change in the HSDPA service information. Therefore, the Node B and the UE simultaneously operate by receiving the generated or changed information, resulting in an increase in the HSDPA service efficiency.

Disclosed is an apparatus and method for retransmitting data in a mobile communication system. A MAC-h (Medium Access Control-high speed) layer transmits, to an RLC (Radio Link Control) layer, received data and information on whether a retransmission process on errored data is being performed, thereby to prevent the RLC layer from performing duplicated retransmission on the errored data.

The method for reporting buffer status of the UE in the mobile communication system includes being allocated a transmission resource from a node B; determining information to add to a certain region of a first Medium Access Control (MAC) subheader through an N-th MAC subheader using the transmission resource; generating a MAC Protocol Data Unit (PDU) by concatenating the first MAC subheader through the N-th MAC subheader with corresponding payload elements; and transmitting the generated MAC PDU.

The method includes starting, in the UE, a first timer to monitor control data via a shared control channel, the control data being associated with user data to be transmitted; and starting, in the UE, a second timer, when the control data indicating a new transmission of associated user data is received via the shared control channel while the first timer is running, or restarting, in the UE, the second timer, when the control data indicating a new transmission of associated user data is received via the shared control channel while the second timer is running.
