    摘要: A scroll type positive displacement assembly includes a first scroll and a second scroll, where the second scroll is configured to orbit with respect to a center of the first scroll without rotating with respect to the first scroll. Together, the first scroll and the second scroll define a compression chamber between two seal points where the first scroll and the second scroll contact one another as the second scroll orbits with respect to the first scroll during a compression cycle, and the two seal points come together proximate to a discharge port between the first scroll and the second scroll such that there is at least substantially no dead space between the first scroll and the second scroll at an end of the compression cycle. For example, the two seal points remain in sealing contact during at least one hundred and eighty (180) degrees of the compression cycle.

    摘要: A muffler for a feed air system of a compressor assembly. The muffler can be a product of a blow molding process and used in a method of sound control for a compressor assembly. A method of controlling sound in a compressor assembly can have the step of providing a feed air and the step of providing the muffler an outlet in communication with an inlet of a pump assembly which can compress the feed air fed through the muffler and into the pump assembly. Sound control for a compressor assembly is also accomplished by adapting a feed air system to have sound control of a feed air path by dampening the sound emitted from a pump system through the feed air path.

    摘要: This invention is directed to an improved eccentric crank assembly for a reciprocating piston type air compressor. The eccentric crank assembly includes an eccentric plate, a compressor shaft, and an eccentric shaft. The eccentric plate is provided with a pair of parallel overlapping openings formed therethrough. The compressor shaft includes one end provided with a flat angled surface, and the eccentric shaft includes one end provided with a corresponding flat angled surface. The angled surface ends of the shafts are disposed within the openings of the plate. When the eccentric shaft is moved away from the compressor shaft, the angled flat surfaces force the shafts radially apart and into engagement with the openings of the eccentric plate, thereby locking the shafts and the eccentric plate together.

    摘要: An improved fluid tight seal for connecting a tube to a housing member. A generally D-shaped opening is formed in the housing member. The opening has a flat open side where the housing member is secured to and abuts a flat surface. A groove or slot extends around the opening. The slot has enlarged corners adjacent the flat side. The tube is provided with an annular groove adjacent the end to be attached to the housing member. The tube groove receives a resilient seal which is shaped to slide into the housing member slot. The seal has corner tabs which fill the enlarged slot corners. Prior to securing the housing member to the flat surface, the seal extends slightly from the slot. When the housing member is secured to the surface, the seal is compressed to form a high pressure resilient seal between the housing member and the tube. The seal is particularly useful for connecting a compressed air outlet tube to the cylinder head of an air compressor.
