摘要: In a magnetic sheet recorder, a scraping member is mounted in association with a magnetic head to be put into contact with the magnetic layer of a magnetic sheet together with the magnetic head. The scraping member is mounted ahead of the head so as to treat the recording track of the magnetic sheet in advance of the head when the magnetic sheet is rotated. The scraping member removes from the surface of the magnetic layer scratches and dust particles which cause drop-out of the output level.

摘要: A process of producing a magnetic recording element comprising a non-magnetic support having provided thereon a subbing layer and further having provided thereon a magnetic layer comprising a ferromagnetic powder and a binder, in which the non-magnetic support is a biaxially stretched polyester and the subbing layer is formed by coating a coating solution having a solids concentration of about 0.8 to about 5 wt% comprising an amorphous linear saturated polyester resin containing an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, 10 to 50 wt% of a vinylidene chloride addition polymerizable nitrile copolymer based on the polyester resin and an organic solvent mainly composed of methyl ethyl ketone, which comprises coating the subbing solution at a temperature of about 100.degree. C. or below to provide a dry thickness of about 0.03 to about 2.0 .mu.m, drying the coated layer and then coating the magnetic recording layer thereon.

摘要: Cobalt-free ferromagnetic particles are disclosed. The particles are comprised of ferromagnetic metal inner cores and an outer oxidized layer. The particles have a saturation magnetization of 60 to 100 emu/g and a coercive force of 500 Oe or more. The outer layer provides a means for stabilizing the magnetic characteristics of the particles at temperatures not higher than 80.degree. C. in air. The particles are produced by gradually oxidizing ferromagnetic metal particles containing no cobalt in oxygen-containing gas such that the surface-oxidized metal particles have a saturation magnetization of 60 to 100 emu/g. The particles provided have good magnetic characteristics which are maintained with the passage of time even when the particles are subjected to adverse temperature and humidity conditions.

摘要: A method for preparing ferromagnetic metal particles is disclosed. The method involves dehydrating oxyhydroxide particles comprised mainly of iron in a nonreducing gas under heating at a temperature of not more than 500.degree. C. to form oxide particles, providing silicon compounds on the surface of oxide particles, and reducing the oxide particles in a reducing gas under heating. The ferromagnetic metal particles provided have good acicular shape and a large specific surface area.

摘要: A magnetic recording material having superior abrasion resistance and thermal stability is produced by coating a magnetic coating composition consisting essentially of aqueous emulsions of at least two resin binders capable of reacting with each other upon mixing, and being present therein in the separated state, and a ferromagnetic powder on a non-magnetic support, drying the coating, and curing the resulting magnetic recording layer where drying is insufficient to effect curing. Hazards ascribable to the use of organic solvents in conventional techniques can be obviated by this invention.
