    摘要: A display panel includes a liquid crystal layer, an array substrate and a color filter substrate. The array substrate has a plurality of data lines, a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of pixel regions. The electrode for a storage capacitor is formed on each of the pixel regions. The color filter substrate is combined with the array substrate to receive the liquid crystal layer therebetween. The color filter substrate includes a first region where a color filter is formed and a second region where an opening is formed. The opening corresponds to the electrode for the storage capacitor. Thus, light reflected by the electrode for the storage capacitor exits the display panel through the opening, thereby enhancing an optical reflectivity of each pixel region.

    摘要: Disclosed are LCD devices with improved display quality and front luminance and a method of manufacturing these LCD devices. Signal lines for transmitting the driving signals and TFTs are formed on the transparent substrate, and a dielectric layer is deposited on the transparent substrate. A leakage current prevention pattern is formed on a first region of the dielectric layer that overlies signal lines and the TFTs. A luminance-increasing pattern is formed on a second region of the dielectric layer that is separate from the first region. The thickness of the dielectric layer is higher at the leakage current prevention pattern than the luminance-increasing pattern, on the average. The leakage current prevention pattern has protrusions (e.g., convex portions or polygonal cones) of different dimensions. Accordingly, the leakage current can be prevented and the luminance of the LCD device can be improved.

A semi-transmissive film (600) is positioned between a light generating section (100) and a liquid crystal display panel (200) in order to partially transmit or reflect light supplied from an exterior. A polarizing plate (400), one surface of which is anti-glare treated, is positioned between the liquid crystal display panel (200) and the semi-transmissive film (600). The polarizing plate (400) diffuses light transmitted through or reflected from the semi-transmissive film. The display characteristic and viewing angle of the liquid crystal display device may be improved and reflectivity of light in the reflection mode may increase, so that visibility is improved.

    摘要: Disclosed are LCD devices with improved display quality and front luminance and a method of manufacturing these LCD devices. Signal lines for transmitting the driving signals and TFTs are formed on the transparent substrate, and a dielectric layer is deposited on the transparent substrate. A leakage current prevention pattern is formed on a first region of the dielectric layer that overlies signal lines and the TFTs. A luminance-increasing pattern is formed on a second region of the dielectric layer that is separate from the first region. The thickness of the dielectric layer is higher at the leakage current prevention pattern than the luminance-increasing pattern, on the average. The leakage current prevention pattern has protrusions (e.g., convex portions or polygonal cones) of different dimensions. Accordingly, the leakage current can be prevented and the luminance of the LCD device can be improved.
