Abstract:
A system and media are provided for applying a policy associated with a content provider to handle an error message received from the content provider in response to a request from a user device. An error reply from the content provider in response to the request from the user device is received at a gateway, A reply to the user device is generated based on the error reply. The reply to the user device includes an indication of one or more user-agent measures for the user device to take. The user-agent measures are selected from: (A) updating a durable resource identifier to point to a new location for a resource, (B) updating a service identifier to point to a new provider of the service, (C) modifying an existing caching policy for the content provider, and (D) retrying the request at a specified future time.
Abstract:
A wireless communication device receives a user request to download a software application and wirelessly receives the software application. The wireless communication device presents multiple application management tiers for the software application. The wireless communication device receives a user selection of a first application management tier for the software application. The wireless communication wirelessly transfers the user selection of the first application management tier for the software application and wirelessly receives a network selection of a second application management tier for the software application from the communication network. The wireless communication presents the second application management tier for the software application.
Abstract:
A wireless communication device communicates with a data network in response to data access operations generated by a plurality of applications operating within the wireless communication device. The wireless communication device displays a plurality of framed icons based on icons individually associated with each of the applications and monitors the applications to determine a data throughput for the data access operations on a per-application basis. The wireless communication device processes the data throughput to select frame colors on a per-application basis, and directs the wireless communication device to display the framed icons with the selected frame colors.
Abstract:
A wireless relay performs Radio Frequency (RF) testing at geographic azimuths. In the wireless relay, a wireless access point wirelessly exchanges user data with wireless user devices and exchanges the user data with Relay Equipment (RE). In the wireless relay, the RE exchanges the user data with the wireless access point and wirelessly exchanges the user data with a wireless communication network. The RE wirelessly receives a directional RF test instruction indicating geographic azimuths. The RE performs a directional RF test at the geographic azimuths based on the directional RF test instruction. The RE transfers RF test results for the geographic azimuths to the wireless communication network.
Abstract:
A wireless communication network locates User Equipment (UE) that is served by a wireless repeater chain. The wireless repeater chain wirelessly exchanges user data with the UE and wirelessly exchanges the user data with a wireless base station. The wireless base station determines an amount of communication time delay between the UE and the wireless base station over the wireless repeater chain. The wireless base station identifies the wireless repeater in the wireless repeater chain that is wirelessly attached to the UE based on the communication time delay. The wireless base station identifies the geographic location of the UE based on the geographic location of the identified wireless repeater. The wireless base station transfers the geographic location of the UE.
Abstract:
A base station exchanges session communications with a UE during a communication session, receives a location request for a device location of the UE, determines an amount of delay time associated with the session communications of the UE, and submits a query to a database system for a location of a wireless repeater to which the UE is connected, wherein the query includes an identifier of the base station and the amount of delay time associated with the session communications. The database system processes the identifier of the base station and the amount of delay time associated with the session communications to identify and return the location of the wireless repeater to the base station. The base station receives the location of the wireless repeater from the database system and transfers the location of the wireless repeater in response to the location request for the device location of the UE.
Abstract:
A method, system, and medium are provided for facilitating development of an application by a user for a mobile communications device. A portion of programmatic code provided by the user is retrieved and a classification corresponding to the code is determined. A set of rules comprising a use restriction associated with a protected application component is referenced to determine whether the code classification corresponds to a use restriction. Incident to identifying an associated use restriction, feedback is presented to the user that indicates that the portion of code corresponds to a use restriction.
Abstract:
Media, methods and systems are provided for interfacing a mobile device to an application virtual machine via an application programming interface (API). A first set of file connection properties for one or more internal storage locations and a second set of file connection properties for one or more external storage locations are defined at a mobile device. The first and second sets of file connection properties define the file storage locations for a plurality of media types. Requests are received from the application virtual machine for the first and second sets of file connection properties. The application virtual machine identifies a current default storage area that can be selected from the one or more internal storage locations and the one or more external storage locations, and indicates whether the current default storage location is an internal storage location or an external storage location.
Abstract:
A method, system, and medium are provided for delivering recallable messages via Internet or telephony paths. A sender may configure a message as a recallable message on a communication device that is communicatively connected to a messaging alert platform. The request is delivered to a messaging alert platform, which then delivers the recallable message on the Internet or telephony paths. The messages are formatted by the messaging alert platform based to comply with the requirements of the selected communication path. The messaging alert platform attempts delivery until all paths are exhausted or a response, not an auto-reply, is received from the recipient of the message. The responses are filtered by the messaging alert platform before delivering the response from the recipient to the user.
Abstract:
A wireless communication device to facilitate attachment to a serving wireless access node, the wireless communication device comprises a wireless communication transceiver and a processing system. The wireless communication transceiver is configured to receive a list identifying approved wireless access nodes based on a quality of service level associated with the wireless communication device, and receive a request to report measurements of a plurality of neighboring wireless access nodes. The processing system is configured to process the list identifying the approved wireless access nodes with the plurality of neighboring wireless access nodes to determine a subset of the neighboring wireless access nodes included in the list of approved wireless access nodes, and perform radio frequency (RF) measurements on the subset of the neighboring wireless access nodes. The wireless communication transceiver is further configured to transmit a report of the RF measurements on the subset of the neighboring wireless access nodes.
